White Customers Asked To Pay More At New Orleans Restaurant

Can a $12 lunch change the way people think about racial wealth disparity in America? How about a $30 lunch? That’s the premise behind a social experiment play After eight years of President Obama, the man who was elected to heal racial divides, we are  now more racially divided  than we have been in a long time. ing out in a New Orleans food stall.

We now have more evidence (not that any was needed) that it is now okay in 2018 America to discriminate and be racist towards white people.  After eight years of President Obama, the man who was elected to heal racial divides, we are  now more racially divided  than we have been in a long time.

We have a couple of prime examples this week of acceptable racism and how our country has taken huge steps backwards in the race arena.

First, there is the restaurant in New Orleans that requests white customers to pay more money for their food than non-white customers.  This is done in the name of wealth redistribution.  It is a way to correct past wrongs, per the restaurant owner.  The restaurant, Saartj, gives white customers the “option” to pay more for their food.  For example, a meal that would cost a non-white customer $12 would cost the white customer a whopping $30.

Wonder what happens to that extra $18?  Well, it goes directly into the pocket of a black customer, should they choose to receive it.

The moronic restaurant owner, Trunde Way, said he is doing this to make customers aware of the “nation’s racial wealth gap”.  Way also asks only white customers personal questions, such as “have you ever inherited money or received gifts from family like a car, college tuition payments or other high value gifts?”.

At this point, 78% of white customers are “choosing” to pay the higher price.  I wonder, how many are doing this out of fear, guilt or feeling intimidated?  Anti-bullying is all the rage these days.  This kind of smells like bullying to me.  Also, I wonder how many REPEAT white customers the restaurant has!  I doubt many will be returning.

Our second lovely example of white hate this week comes from none other than Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer.  Schumer openly stated that he would not vote to confirm Marvin Quattlebaum because he was white.  Quattlebaum has been nominated for a vacancy in the U.S. District Court in South Carolina.

Schumer stated that Quattlebaum is white, while former President Obama’s nominees were black.  To this I reply, SO WHAT?!  Apparently, qualities of what makes a good judge and bad judge no longer matter.

Schumer said, “It’s long past time that the judiciary starts looking a lot more like the America it represents. Having a diversity of views and experiences on the federal bench is necessary for the equal administration of justice. After years of improvement, the Trump administration, like in so many other areas, is taking a giant step backward, this time when it comes to diversity of their nominations. I’ll be voting no on the Quattlebaum nomination.”

It is telling and infuriating that today’s Democrat party cannot succeed without dividing the American people.  Their electoral success is dependent on the American people remaining divided along lines of race, class, gender, sexuality, and religion just to name a few.  That is a shame for our nation.

Recall, Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous words, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”  We are just a few short weeks removed from Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  Sadly, I think we need to wipe this holiday off our calendar because we as a nation CLEARLY no longer subscribe to his ideals.  And that is very sad.

As of Feb. 28, the day the premise of the experiment was revealed in a Times-Picayune article, 64 people had completed the survey, which included 32 whites, Prasertong says. Twenty-five white customers paid the extra $18, adding up to a pool of $450. Only six people of color had signed up for distributions, which they would split evenly among them, $75 each.

“We think of this as a systemic issue, like something that happens outside of ourselves, when in fact the aggregate sum of all of our actions and choices exacerbates or ameliorates the wealth gap,” says Wey. That includes actions like “where we choose to send our children to school, where we choose to buy a home and critically, how we choose to spend our money and where we choose to spend our money. ”

OK, so 78% of the remaining white customers chose to pay the higher price. How many white customers chose to eat elsewhere? Do not forget that New Orleans and Chicago are the two most corrupt cities in the USA. No telling who’s pockets the extra $18 actually went.

Schumer needs to be replaced as soon as he comes up for re-election to his seat. He is the one that sounds the most racist to me.
