Enormous shark with blood dripping from mouth jumps onto a boat and writhes around as crew watch in horror!

The video shot off the coast of Long Island, New York, shows the tense moments after the beast got stuck in railings of the boat.

This is somehow disturbing to watch as it struggles ferociously and the bleeding gets more and more excessive!

“He jumped on the boat, oh my gosh!” a passenger yells in the background as the video begins.

The shark violently shakes as it tries to make its way back into the water below, but its long dorsal fin keeps it from slipping back into the ocean. Captain Law and others on the vessel try to devise a plan to free the animal, as time is of the essence. As they speak, massive amounts of blood spill from the shark’s mouth.

The crew tied a rope around the base of the shark’s caudal fin and hooked its head with a fishing line to keep it looking to the ocean (and away from them). The video then cuts to the men, after having seemingly been able to squeeze the shark’s dorsal fin through the railing lowering the shark into the water with the rope.

“It’s a huge mako,” a child says as the shark slowly dips back into the water.

“We just released a gorgeous mako,” another man says.

Captain Law operates Outlaw Fishing Charters out of Hampton Bay, New York. According to the Outlaw Fishing website, Law says hunting and fishing are his life, and he regularly posts photographs of the sharks caught during fishing his excursions.

But for one lucky shark that literally hopped aboard his ship, this lifelong fisherman was able to let free what would have been—at least on this day—too easy of a catch.

Although it looks like the poor shark did not jump on board if you look closely its been hooked and the line can be visibly seen!  It was bleeding from its mouth and you can see the line and the hook coming out of its mouth.

Obviously they were fishing. And the shark was hooked so bad he just came up to the surface to get unhooked jumping and flopping in pain.  As humans, we might have done the same. Once the mako surfaced he just came straight up, but got caught in the railing and still had the hook in his mouth – as you can see and the line goes straight to it. They weren’t intentionally trying to hurt the shark, I mean come on, they are fishing in the ocean so you obviously want a strong enough pole and and line to hold a big fish. But unfortunately, that’s the wrong kind of big fish.

Want to know MORE about the  MAKO SHARK?

The shortfin mako shark is also known as the blue pointer and bonito shark. It is a fast speed-swimming shark that has been called “the peregrine falcon of the sharks” in allusion to the fastest bird in the world. It is considered an animal dangerous to humans because of the speed which can attack and its ability to jump into the fishing boats.

The mako is the fastest shark on Earth. It reaches up to 32 kilometers per hour with gusts of 72 km/h and is capable of traveling up to 55 kilometers in a single day. Therefore, it shows signs of being a migratory species. This fish can also jump, as it has been seen doing, out of the water reaching up to 9 meters in height.

So next time you’re out on the open waters, stay alert! You never know when a mako will be ‘coming aboard’ mate.
