Unplanned: The ‘Uncle Tom’s Cabin’ of Abortion
The release of the new movie, “Unplanned”, has created quite a stir. Facebook refused to accept promotional ads. Twitter temporarily banned its account, twice, and at one point removed most of its followers.
One person recorded that the number of followers for “Unplanned” had, within minutes, dropped from over 200,000 to just 8,900 followers.
Planned Parenthood panned the presentation as dishonest.
The movie has basically stirred up the pro-abortion world in a way that has never been seen before, and has made huge box-office success despite all of the attacks and efforts to keep the public from knowing of its existence.
In few short months, “Unplanned” gained more total Twitter followers than Planned Parenthood has in a decade. The film earned back its entire $6 million budget in its opening weekend. This was twice the expected ticket sales. The movie is now showing in theaters around the country and more screens are expected to be added soon.
The left is going crazy.

This quote from the Daily Beast analysis of the movie tells all:
“Propaganda doesn’t come more putrid than Unplanned, which is the perfect way to spend a Friday or Saturday night if you’re a die-hard right-to-lifer who views Planned Parenthood as a scourge upon the face of the Earth. Smacking you upside the head with its message for 110 god-awful minutes via every cornball cliché in the (not-so-good) Christian-movie book, it’s a leaden, self-righteous and wholly rancid affair, designed only to preach to its choir by maligning the non-profit organization.”
Why are they so upset you may ask?
The movie “Unplanned” takes the audience inside the abortion industry with a real-life story of a former clinic director for Planned Parenthood.
Abby Johnson becomes the youngest clinic director in the history of Planned Parenthood, then a life-changing experience turns her into an anti-abortion activist.
“It’s a very vulnerable place to sort of expose some of your greatest wounds and hurts to the public but in the end, this film’s really not about me,” she told CBN News. “I didn’t do this so Abby Johnson would be a household name. I did this so God’s redemption – that would be known in every household.”
Much of her personal life is played out on the big screen, including the period of time that she herself had two abortions, and the movie is powerful.
The makers of Unplanned say their ultimate desire is that a movie would make a difference in saving the lives of countless unborn babies.
In steps Jason Jones, an American film producer, pro-life activist, and human rights worker.
He has a ‘special message’ on the movie ‘Unplanned’ and compares the movie to ‘Uncle Tom’s Cabin’.
“When Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote ‘Uncle Tom’s Cabin’, could she have imagined its impact, that slavery would die less than 15 years later? When I watched the screening of the movie, ‘Unplanned’, I was filled with hope and conviction. I thought, ‘This film has the power to end abortion!'”
“Unplanned, can be, the ‘Uncle Tom’s Cabin’ of the abortion issue!”
I have to agree!
Published in 1852, ‘Uncle Tom’s Cabin’ had a profound effect on attitudes toward African Americans and slavery in the U.S. and is said to have helped lay the groundwork for the Civil War and ending slavery.
This movie can do the same, if enough people see it!
I have not seen the movie yet, but I have seen previews, and plenty of interviews. I know some of the people involved. A friend stated that the movie is such a compelling story that whether you are pro-choice or pro-life, you will be a changed person after seeing the movie. I cannot wait to see it.
I too believe that it will change minds and hearts. That is how we fight this issue.
I would encourage you to listen to Jason Jones, take it to heart, and do what you can to help make sure every American can, and does see this movie. There are so many ways to help.
I was adopted in 1969, before Roe VS Wade.
It is very well possible, that if I had been conceived a few years later, I would not be writing this article. This fight is vital.
Here is the social media for the movie. Go, like, share, follow, tweet, retweet… you know the drill.
