I am a huge fan of Nikki Haley these days. The United Nations voted 14 to 1 to nullify President Trump’s recent decision to formally recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. This got Nikki riled up in the extreme. The United States of course has veto power and used it against the resolution. To pass, a resolution must have the support of nine members and no vetoes by the US, France, Britain, Russia or China.
What these United Nations asshats did manage to do was piss off Nikki Haley. In no uncertain terms, she told them where they could shove it and it was glorious! She called the measure an insult, stating that a sovereign nation won’t be told where it can locate its embassy. “The United States will not be told by any country where we can put our embassy,” she declared.
The security council vote on Monday comes on the heels of a similar declaration by the 57-member Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC) that denounced Trump’s decision and called for international recognition of East Jerusalem as the capital of a Palestinian state. OIC and Western leaders knew Haley was certain to veto the security council resolution, but pushed for a vote anyway in order to further isolate the US on the issue.
That shows you how much the United Nations hates Israel. “What we have witnessed here is an insult,” Haley continued. “It won’t be forgotten. It is one more example of the UN doing more harm than good in addressing the Israeli Palestinian conflict.” Exactly right and Nikki put every one of those dictators and Islamists in their place for hating on the Jews. Get ’em girl! Egypt drafted the bogus resolution. It said they had “deep regret at recent decisions concerning the status of Jerusalem.” It essentially “affirms that any decisions and actions which purport to have altered, the character, status or demographic composition of the Holy City of Jerusalem have no legal effect, are null and void and must be rescinded in compliance with relevant resolutions of the Security Council.” Yeah, well… the UN is not the boss of us.

Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon gave the United Nations his own personal touch by telling the Security Council that they “can vote another hundred times to criticize our presence in Jerusalem, but history won’t change. […] It’s time for all countries to recognize that Jerusalem always was and always will be the capital of the Jewish people and the capital of Israel,” Haaretz reported. This just makes my day. Seriously.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took to Twitter to thank Nikki for vetoing the resolution and to state his admiration of her. “Thank you, Ambassador Haley. On Hanukkah, you spoke like a Maccabi. You lit a candle of truth. You dispel the darkness. One defeated the many. Truth defeated lies. Thank you, President Trump. Thank you Nikki Haley.” Netanyahu tweeted. And social media was set on fire supporting Nikki, Trump and Israel. And they showed their disdain for the UN big time.

What a flaming pile of bull crap. That takes stones to tell the US what to do when we overwhelmingly give the most money to the United Nations. This would be an excellent time to cut them off. The United Nations should go know themselves in the biblical sense and I mean that sincerely. Trump formally recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital early this month and initiated plans to move the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to the disputed city. Though the move broke with longstanding US policy, it did make good on one of Trump’s campaign promises, an assurance also made by every US president going back to former President Bill Clinton. Trump kept his word.
The administration’s decision on Jerusalem has not changed the US position on brokering peace talks, Nikki said before today’s vote. “The United States has an undiminished commitment to helping bring about final status negotiations that will lead to lasting peace. Our hand remains extended to both parties,” she said. In the meantime, the Trump administration continues to publicly support Israel in the face of diplomatic criticism in the UN. During a meeting ahead of the security council vote Monday, Haley said the Trump administration would have vetoed a Dec. 2016 resolution demanding an end to Israeli settlement building in the West Bank. The Obama administration abstained from voting on that resolution, which passed 14-0, despite pressure from Israel and then-President-elect Trump.

That's so much more diplomatic and polite than the "feel free to shove your resolution sideways; we veto" that I'd
