REVEALED: Billionaire Mega-donor George Soros Spent $408k on Kim Foxx, Prosecutor in Jussie Smollett Case Whose Office Dropped Charges
The Chicago prosecutor who dropped 16 felony charges against actor Jussie Smollett has a big fan and supporter in leftist billionaire George Soros, who donated $408,000 to a super PAC that supported Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, whose office prosecuted — and dropped — the Jussie Smollett case. In a shocking turn, Chicago prosecutors dropped all 16 felony charges against Smollett , whom police had accused of faking a hate crime he blamed on racist, homophobic white Trump supporters.
All lies, according to Democrats Mayor Rahm Emanuel, the Chicago Police Chief, and plenty of others.

Kim Foxx found a ginormous source of cash, in the form of a $300,000 donation to a Super PAC supporting her called Illinois Safety & Justice. The donor? Billionaire Mega-donor and left-winger George Soros. According to Illinois Sunshine, a database of State Election Board filings maintained by the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform, this marks the first time Soros has entered into a political race in Illinois—ever.
Kim Foxx also claimed Smollett would not be charged for lying to Chicago Police over a hate crime he said was perpetrated by white Trump supporters because he already served “community service…” Must have been rough doing “community service” for Jesse Jackson, right? Tough gig..

State campaign finance records show that Soros personally contributed a total of $333,000 to Foxx’s super PAC before the March 15, 2016 primary was over, and an additional $75,000 after she won.
Jussie Smollet had a lot going for him in this case, beyond the hundreds of thousands of dollars poured into the law enforcement office that let him skate on a possible 48-year sentence: The Chicago Tribune reported that Foxx had asked police to turn the case over to the FBI after an intervention by Tina Tchen, a former chief of staff for former First Lady Michelle Obama. Nice.
… With friends like this, pretty much do anything you want with your privilege, Jussie.
As Breitbart News has reported extensively, Soros has been intervening in local races for prosecutor, state’s attorney, and district attorney — often backing left-wing Democrats against other Democrats in doing so.
Breitbart News reported in 2018 (original links):
Left-wing billionaire George Soros continues to pour millions of dollars into hitherto-obscure local races for district attorney, backing “progressive” candidates who are opposing more traditional law-and-order prosecutors.
The Los Angeles Times reported earlier this month that Soros is involved in 21 district attorney races across the country — and that is just the spending that is known. He is also contributing money to non-profit organizations that are engaged in certain political activities but are not required to report donations.
Foxx’s office explained the decision to drop charges against Smollett by referring to his previous community service. The decision to drop the charges was officially made by Joe Magats, first assistant state’s attorney.
