It all started last week when Democratic Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) stepped in it once again claiming that the border detention centers are the modern-day equivalent to Nazi concentration camps. Last Monday, she did a Live Instagram video once again proclaiming that the detention centers at the border were “concentration camps.” She also called President Trump a “fascist.” Old hat for the young socialist.
After throwing the ‘Holocaust’ card, Ocasio-Cortez was summarily ripped by Reps. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) and Liz Cheney (R-WY) among many others. Holocaust experts also weighed in to correct and lambast her. But her buds Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MI) both came to her indefensible defense. Tlaib accused Cheney and her “crew” of bullying poor Ocasio-Cortez over her remarks about concentration camps. Then, Omar made one of the most ignorant and bizarre statements ever on record.
From TheBlaze on Ocasio-Cortez’s original statement:
“Ocasio-Cortez faced a firestorm of criticism for the comments which many said cheapened the memory of the horrors of the death camps from World War II. Ocasio-Cortez and her allies defended the comments by claiming that technically not all concentration camps were death camps.
“We have to really truthfully speak about what’s taking place, and this is why it’s really important for us to abolish ICE and make sure we have an agency that is accountable to the people that is dealing with the situation in a humane way,” Omar continued.
“There’s no way that we can allow for kids to be caged in this country and children to be separated from their families. And people being terrorized in their communities,” she added. “We have to make sure that we are calling it out, and I am 100 percent with Alex.”‘
Ilhan Omar says that because people are being “CONCENTRATED” in “camps” they are therefore “concentration camps.”

“During a Thursday interview on Public Radio International, Omar echoed Ocasio-Cortez’s stance and defended the term and noted the separation of “death camps.”
“When you look at what is taking place, people are being put in camps. And when you think about the definition, if we separate it from death camps, I would say these are camps and people are being concentrated in them. And so that’s the general definition,” Omar said. [My emphasis.]
“I think a lot of people are conflating what a death camp looks like or a specific removal of people. These people are coming to the border. We are removing them from the border. We are placing them in camps. Some of them are being removed from communities and being put in what we’re calling detention centers — but are essentially camps.”
With this letter, I am formally inviting @AOC to come to Poland, where Adolf Hitler set up the worst chain of concentration camps the world has ever seen, so that she may see that scoring political points with enflamed rhetoric is unacceptable in our contemporary Western societies pic.twitter.com/ivOTfmiCfo

“When asked about the issue again today, Omar doubled down:
“There are camps and people are being concentrated,” Omar said. “This is very simple. I don’t even know why this is a controversial thing to say.”
“Omar said the United States needs to have an honest conversation on what is happening at the U.S.-Mexico border and shows why it is “really important for us to abolish [U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement].”’

Let me just state for the record that I don’t think Omar is this stupid. She’s calculating and manipulative, but not stupid. So, she probably figures most of her followers are and will swallow that piece of tripe whole. Unfortunately, they probably will. On second thought, maybe Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib, and Omar really are just evil morons. Sometimes the simplest explanation is the best fit.
Omar didn’t describe migrant detention facilities as “death camps,” but she insinuated that it was just the beginning of the process.
“When you talk about the process of de-humanizing people so that you can exterminate them, there is a process,” she explained, accusing the Trump administration of engaging in dangerous rhetoric. “When you are constantly engaging in the kind of rhetoric this administration has engaged in — when it comes to immigrants and people who are seeking asylum and refugees — we have to be alarmed,” she said. “It is very worrisome. When we say ‘never again,’ that means we have to be vigilant that that doesn’t happen under our watch as we stay politically correct and try to find the proper words to use or even worse look the other way,” she added.
For the love of G-d, do not use what the Nazis did to six million Jews and five million other “undesirable” people as a comparative tool for policy decisions you do not like that have absolutely *nothing* in common with the genocidal character of Hitler’s despicable actions.

Point-in-fact, it is Omar, Tlaib, and Ocasio-Cortez who are engaging in dangerous and hateful rhetoric… not President Trump. On Thursday, Dominik Tarczyński, a member of Poland’s Parliament, sent a letter to Ocasio-Cortez, inviting her to fly to Poland to “study the concentration camps here for real.” Tlaib and Omar should go with her but of course, none of them will. They know they are lying for propaganda’s sake and they could care less about the deaths of millions of Jews.
Illegal alien children are not being held in concentration camps on the border. They are kept in safe, clean facilities where they are cared for and fed. They are separated from those that bring them over until it can be ascertained they are actually their real parents. And yes, the children along with their families should be deported. That is not terrorizing them… that is upholding the rule of law which Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib, and Omar despise.
First we had two weeks of non-stop abortion debate, then a couple of weird days where rapists and murderers used the platform to reinvent themselves and now its wall-to-wall Holocaust-trivialization. pic.twitter.com/5GtvAhrMwQ

Which is to say that not only is she dead wrong on the merits, but she has ZERO moral high ground here.

.@AOC Concentration camps assured a slave labor supply to help in the Nazi war effort, even as the brutality of life inside the camps helped assure the ultimate goal of "extermination through labor."

DHS ripped 1000s of children from their parents & put them in cages w inhumane conditions.
They call their cells “dog pounds” & “freezers.”
I will never apologize for calling these camps what they are.
If that makes you uncomfortable, fight the camps – not the nomenclature. https://t.co/eJpJWeYiot
