President Donald J. Trump to cut Planned Parenthood Funding
A new Trump regulation will prevent a single extorted dime of taxpayer money from ever being used to commit an abortion.
The move, set to be announced next Friday, will save lives and clear the heavy conscience of taxpayers who have been contributing to abortion. In all, the federal government provides $260 million in “family planning” money, some of which is used to abort children instead of provide contraceptives like condoms.
Trump officials answered a media query about the planned cut to Title X funding, saying:
“…[this will] require a bright line of physical as well as financial separation between Title X programs and any program (or facility) where abortion is performed, supported, or referred for as a method of family planning.”
That is, Title X funding will no longer be going to programs that use abortion as birth control.
According to the 1970 law that established the spooky-sounding Title X,
“None of the funds appropriated under this title shall be used in programs where abortion is a method of family planning.”
But, the law has been interpreted to mean that Title X programs are still able to refer women for abortions, or for programs located in the same facility that abortions are provided in.
In 1988, under Reagan, the government issued a series of regulations to put a stop to the blurred lines between money for contraception and the promotion of abortion, but after a legal battle where the Supreme Court upheld the Reagan changes, Bill Clinton took over and quashed it before abortionists could lose their Title X money.
The Clinton policy is still in effect.
Trump Picking Up Where Reagan Left Off
According to the Trump official, Donald’s proposal doesn’t necessarily defund Planned Parenthood, but it will unless they “disentangle” taxpayer money from their abortion services.
“Unlike the Reagan regulation, the proposal will not prohibit counseling for clients about abortion, but neither will it include the current, potentially illegal mandate that projects must counsel and refer for abortion.”
In effect, the Trump regulation will put up a big beautiful border wall between federal funding and the money that pays to cover the murder of children. If Planned Parenthood wants to kill, they’ll have to raise their own money.
Planned Parenthood receives around $500 million in taxpayer funding every year, only half of which is through Title X, and the rest through Medicaid.
The omnibus does retain existing language forbidding funds from being used on abortions (except in cases of rape, incest, or medical emergencies). However, pro-lifers have long noted that taxpayers’ money Planned Parenthood receives for other purposes still indirectly aids the abortion business, by freeing more revenue from other sources to be spent on abortions.
One bit of good news is that Planned Parenthood has been executing a fewer abortions year over year. But, this is bad business for the group which is now turning towards working to provide hormones for trannies. At a recent gala, the group lauded their retiring President, who is being replaced because she’s not overseeing enough abortions. During her reign of terror, she oversaw almost 4 million abortions.
Cecilia Richards is also a good friend to the Clintons, and her daughter Lily Adams worked for both Tim Kaine and Hillary Clinton during the 2016 campaign.
Trump Started Attacking Title X Funds Last Year
In April of 2017, Trump signed a piece of legislation that undid an Obama regulation that prohibited states from stripping appropriated funds for family planning services from Planned Parenthood. The legislation was intended to ensure that states were not forced to provide abortion groups that provide abortions with federal Title X money.
It’s not only the abortions that are being paid for — by giving funds to cover abortions, taxpayers are also complicit in the covering-up of the rapes of young women.
In one case in Arizona, a state law was allegedly violated that requires abortionists to report on the reason for an abortion:
“The allegations are that Planned Parenthood deliberately misrepresented sexual abuse on a minor by… deliberately miscoding a sexual assault as ‘consensual.’ Moreover, because [Arizona state law] 36-2161 requires abortion providers to file a report that includes the reason for an abortion… [the report form likely] contained false information.”
