Democratic Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) really needs to muzzle her chief-of-staff… he accidentally let slip the truth of the Green New Deal. Saikat Chakrabarti, who is under heavy attack from his own party for comments he has made, admitted that the Green New Deal was not conceived as an effort to deal with climate change, but instead a “how-do-you-change-the-entire economy thing.” That remark will give Republicans ample political ammo to correctly put forth that the deal is nothing more than a thinly veiled socialist takeover of the U.S. economy.
“The interesting thing about the Green New Deal is it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all,” Saikat Chakrabarti stated in May, according to The Washington Post. Interesting how it is only be reported now. That’s WaPo for you. The Washington Post is where real journalism goes to die. Case in point. Chakrabarti made the comments to Sam Ricketts, the climate director for 2020 hopeful and Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, who the Post says greeted the statement with “an attentive poker face.” I’ll bet.
“Do you guys think of it as a climate thing?” Chakrabarti asked. “Because we really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing.” Exactly! The goal has been socializing the economy all along… climate change is just a Ponzi scheme to facilitate that ‘change’ and is far more sinister. The Green New Deal used to be fringe for Democrats – now it is mainstream and this is why. They are all in on the scam… every last one of them.
Ocasio-Cortez labeled the deal “a wartime-level, just economic mobilization plan to get to 100% renewable energy.” The plan, which could cost more than 93 trillion over ten years, sees the U.S. taking a “leading role in reducing emissions through economic transformation.” With the emphasis on ‘economic’. The wording is critical here. Do or die actually.
.@JayInslee’s climate plan is the most serious + comprehensive one to address our crisis in the 2020 field.
It meets key marks:
✅ Big enough
✅ Fast enough
✅ Economically stimulating for working people
✅ Acknowledges injustice + w/ an eye to make communities whole https://t.co/C7nyEsdUxk

From Fox News:
“It goes on to say that “a new national social, industrial and economic mobilization on a scale not seen since World War II and the New Deal” is an opportunity to tackle systemic injustices of minority groups, create millions of high-wage jobs and “provide unprecedented levels of prosperity and economic security for all people of the United States.
“Its goals include net-zero greenhouse gas emissions, job creation, massive infrastructure investment, a guarantee of clean water and food, and an “access to nature.” It calls for the government to upgrade buildings and power sources to meet a 100 percent clean energy goals.
“But, perhaps hinting at what Chakrabarti said, it also includes a job guarantee plan that would provide “all people” in the U.S. a family-sustaining wage, family and medical leave, paid vacations and retirement security.
“Republicans have responded with delight to the Green New Deal, seeing it as an example of how far left the Democratic Party has shifted, citing an FAQ from AOC’s office that said that deal would make air travel obsolete and give economic security to those “unwilling to work.” It also spoke of getting rid of “farting cows.” Her office subsequently distanced itself from that FAQ, saying that it was published in error and was “unfinished.”
“The deal failed in the Senate after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., put it up to a test vote, with dozens of Democrats voting “present.”
“I could not be more glad that the American people will have the opportunity to learn precisely where each one of their senators stand on the ‘Green New Deal’: a radical, top-down, socialist makeover of the entire U.S. economy,” McConnell said ahead of the vote.
“In the conversation reported by the Post, Ricketts was reportedly uncertain about Chakrabarti’s statement.
“Yeah,” said Ricketts, before saying “no.”
“I think…it’s dual. It is both rising to the challenge that is existential around climate and it is building an economy that contains more prosperity. More sustainability in that prosperity — and more broadly shared prosperity, equitability and justice throughout.”
“Chakrabarti reportedly praised Ricketts for his team’s work in making a “comprehensive plan,” but then added: “I’ll be honest, my view is I still think you guys aren’t going big enough.”’
Tom J. Donohue, CEO of the United States Chamber of Commerce, was very blunt about this communist tactic:
“Climate change is real and deserves our attention. But not every policy to address it can be taken seriously. Take, for example, the Green New Deal – a sweeping proposal to “save our planet” that reads more like a parody of the progressive agenda. No laughing matter, however, is the proposal’s ultimate objective: to give government unprecedented power over people’s lives and our entire economy. …
“…Other aspects of the Green New Deal seem wildly out of place for an environmental resolution. Consider the promise of massive new entitlement programs that could only be achieved through a radical redistribution of wealth. Here, the proposal shows its true colors. This is not some run-of-the-mill progressive policy – it is a Trojan Horse for socialism.
“The Green New Deal aims to upend our entire economic system, wresting consumer choice from everyday Americans and putting personal decisions – from the food we eat to the cars we drive – in the hands of an unelected elite. …”
I disagree on the reality of climate change… it’s called ‘weather’ but on the rest of it, he’s dead on. Even the Dems want AOC’s chief-of-staff ousted over his radical views. That’s because it will lose them votes, not because they don’t secretly agree with him.
The Green New Deal calls for a number of hard-left proposals, including getting the U.S. entirely off of fossil fuels within 10 years, providing universal healthcare, basic income programs, and job guarantees. It also calls for “social, economic, racial, regional and gender-based justice and equality and cooperative and public ownership.”
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Chakrabarti was deadly serious when he said that the Dems weren’t going big enough on this. They will take it much further given half a chance and this is precisely why the 2020 election is so important. This is a communist move to control America, her economy, and Americans in general. It cannot be allowed to move forward and this radicalism must be quashed. President Trump simply must secure a second term in order for this nation to prevail.
In a video from 2018, Chakrabarti promoted his recently elected boss’ agenda in Congress while wearing a T-shirt that featured the face of Subhas Chandra Bose, who collaborated with both Hitler and Imperial Japan during World War II. How apropos. Remember, it was Ocasio-Cortez who just last week quoted Evita Peron: “I know that, like every woman of the people, I have more strength than I appear to have.” Evita was a known Nazi sympathizer who helped her husband, Argentine President Juan Perón, destroy their country’s economy through socialism. These are their mentors… these are their idols and they are blood-thirsty communists.
