Ocasio-Cortez Narrates Hilarious Pie-In-The-Sky Time-Travel Video to Promote Her Green New Deal
Freshman Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez has turned time traveler in order to sell her Green New Deal. She has launched a seven-minute film “A Message From the Future With Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.” The video is set a few decades in the future.
“What if we actually pulled off a Green New Deal? What would the future look like then?” Ocasio-Cortez asks.
We are transported, via an NYC to DC bullet train, into the future. It is 2028, and what a world it is.
After giving a brief history on the threat of climate change, her Utopian scenario begins with Democrats taking both the Senate and presidency in 2020, “and launch[ing] the Decade of the Green New Deal, a flurry of legislation that kicked off our social and ecological transformation to save the planet.”
“We had 12 years to change everything! How we got around, how we fed ourselves, how we made our stuff! How we lived, and worked! ” The video says. “The only way to do it was to transform our economy!”
“On the downside, Hurricane Sheldon at some point left significant portions of Miami underwater, but on the bright side, former oil workers are planting mangroves under the direction of Native American elders. No, I’m not making this up.” states the Federalist.
The style of the video is a paintbrush quickly illustrating page after page of Ocasio-Cortez’ glorious Green New Deal.
Climate change is here + we’ve got a deadline: 12 years left to cut emissions in half.
A #GreenNewDeal is our plan for a world and a future worth fighting for.
How did we get here?
What is at stake?
And where are we going?

The Blaze did a good job of walking through the video:
She also lauded the passage of “Medicare for All, the most popular social program in American history,” and “the Federal Jobs Guarantee, a public option including dignified, living wages for work.”
“Funnily enough,” Rep. Ocasio-Cortez says, “the biggest problem in those early years was a labor shortage. We were building a national smart grid, retrofitting every building in America, and putting trains like this one all across the country. We needed more workers.”
The Congresswoman creatively weaves in scenarios where former oil workers “took apart old pipelines and got to work planting mangroves with the same salary and benefits” through unions, and how “indigenous communities offered generational expertise” in “healing the land.”
Ocasio-Cortez also fanaticizes over a new Universal Childcare initiative, publicly funded election campaigns, and parts of Miami being forever under water after a hurricane.
By the end, a young woman from Ocasio-Cortez’s district who apparently in the space of 10 years went from working for AmeriCorps, to becoming an engineer, and then a teacher, successfully runs for Congress in 2028. Guess whose seat she wins? Yep. So where does that leave Ocasio-Cortez? Senator maybe? Who are we kidding; this voice-over from the future is coming straight from the oval office.
One thing is very clear from the video, and this is that it is obviously clear that the Green New Deal is not about climate change. If it were, nuclear energy would play a prominent role. Why doesn’t it? Because nuclear energy doesn’t require the government to take over free markets willy nilly.
Now, I do have to say, that the propaganda piece is very well orchestrated. It looks and sounds good.
But the real problem is one that is decades old. The socialist utopia will never exist. Even if Ocasio-Cortez got everything she wants in that video, the outcome will not be what she claims.
You cannot sanitize the world of its problems.
This is science:
When in 1989, scientists predict that if we don’t stop ‘global warming’ in 12 years it will be a catastrophe…
And 30 years later, it didn’t come close to being true…
Then what do you do with those same people who say in 2019, we have 12 years to stop the catastrophe?
You see, science is all about theory and results. When your results falter, your theory is wrong.
Almost EVERY prediction in my lifetime, from the climate change group…has faltered.
You will note that the Arctic is not gone, nor was it in 2013. In fact…it’s growing again.
That is just the facts.
