Ocasio-Cortez Has Meltdown After Worst Week Ever!
In the short three months that Freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been in office, she has made a name for herself offending both Democrats and Republicans, as well as those who voted for her. This week got pretty rough, and she did not handle it well. She is great at throwing crap, but does not react well when it is thrown back.
Her “Worst Week Ever” started with an appearance at AL Sharpton’s National Action Network (NAM) gathering.
Ocasio-Cortez was widely criticized after speaking using a ‘southern black’ accent while talking to the predominantly black audience.
Social media was especially harsh at her cultural appropriation of the black accent, which was also rather stereotypical and demeaning. Ocasio-Cortez immediately got defensive and angry that her offensive behavior was questioned.
“Folks talking about my voice can step right off,” Ocasio-Cortez shot back at critics on Twitter.
But the real kicker was concerning her destruction of a deal earlier in the year that would have brought an Amazon Headquarters to New York state. Ocasio-Cortez had led the charge against Amazon which ended up costing New York 25,000 jobs and nearly $30 billion in tax revenue.
She exploded at critics who correctly noted that she had no idea what she was talking about when it came to the Amazon deal.
At the same NAM meeting, Tracy Maitland, president and chief investment officer of Advent Capital Management, called her ‘financially illiterate’, and even hinted she needed to be removed from office.
“The people campaigning against the Amazon campus are financially illiterate,” said Tracy Maitland during a panel discussion the Black Economic Agenda at NAM.
Maitland later stated that he blames the 29-year-old Democratic Socialist for spreading misinformation and helping to kill the agreement with Amazon that would have benefited people in her home state.
“This was a disgrace. I blame AOC for the loss of Amazon. She doesn’t know what she doesn’t know. That’s scary. We have to make sure she’s better educated or vote her out of office,” he said.
He recounted that Ocasio-Cortez had implied the state was giving a blank $3 billion check rather than tax credits based on the number of jobs created.
Ocasio-Cortez has now cried that she does “understand” how tax incentives work, a number of times. “The debate must be over my intelligence & understanding, instead of the merits of the deal,” she wrote at one point.
I’ve been telling @AOC critics that she is smart, but what do I say when she says nonsense like “we could invest those $3 billion in [@amazon tax breaks] in our district. We could hire more teachers. We can fix our subways, we can put a lot of people to work for that money”

Bill Thompson, the chairman of the City University of New York, also said during the panel that Ocasio-Cortez caused jobs to be “snatched away” from mostly Latino and black students at the university.
“We were at the table talking to Amazon on how students could get jobs. … Those opportunities were snatched away,” Thompson was quoted as saying.
“Those students look like us. … We’re talking thousands of high-paying jobs. It was a disappointment from a CUNY perspective.”
Both Democrat New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Democrat New York Governor Andrew Cuomo had also slammed her for ruining the deal.
But her constituents are furious as well. He poll numbers in her own district crashed.
According to a new Siena College poll, 58 percent of voters in her district actually support the Amazon deal that would have brought the tech giant to Long Island City in return for $3 billion in state and local subsidies.
Only 32 percent of her constituents, however, said Amazon’s withdrawal was “good” for the city.
A Quinnipiac poll released on Thursday morning found that 23 percent of Americans had a favorable view of Ocasio-Cortez.
My friend, professional race car driver and founder of GOPUSA, Dr. Bobby Eberle discusses the issue on his weekly show:
Does she really expect to be taken seriously? She was slammed for botching the Amazon deal, but she keeps right on talking about it. She obviously pandered at Al Sharpton’s event, and then tried to cover it up by saying that’s her REAL accent. Then, she stepped over the line by blasting the existing border policy with inflammatory and wrong rhetoric. Check it out…
