Democratic Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has come out with a new art line promoting her $93 trillion Green New Deal. It definitely hearkens back to Soviet-era propaganda. No doubt about that… but she’s right that it is also a take-off of FDR’s New Deal promotions. Of course, he was also a socialist/communist just as she is.
Her communist-style propaganda posters make me cringe. However, for some unfathomable reason, they appeal to millennials. That should shock and scare Americans across the board. She just came out with a Livestream video that also says we just need to bite the bullet and pony up the $93 trillion or we are all gonna die – we’re doomed! She’s both dangerously misinformed and seriously dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to freedom and economics.
“Surprise! I am thrilled to announce the launch of our #GreenNewDeal art series with custom Bronx & Queens GND posters,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “The Bronx edition poster will be given for free as a limited release to the public at our Pelham Bay Nature Day & Backpack Giveaway in the Bronx tomorrow.” No thank you.
The tweet included two posters that echoed communist sentiments: “These posters push us to imagine our future with a Green New Deal in two of our beloved NY-14 parks: Pelham Bay & Flushing Meadows. All our #GND posters are made in the US, union-printed & will be available for purchase soon, but available at organizing events now,” Ocasio-Cortez added. “Bronx & Queens art is where we’re starting, but we aspire to release custom #GreenNewDeal art for local communities across America. We are also working on a line of GND reusables! The first 250 prints will be released at Family Nature Day tomorrow, where we’re doing park tours.”

Her celebratory artwork was met with a peppering of mockery on social media as some compared her to a Soviet-style propagandist.
From The Daily Wire:
“Here are some of the reactions that critics online had of her posters:
“This looks awful similar to Soviet era propaganda,” Pradheep J. Shanker tweeted, adding: “Just saying.”
“Jeryl Bier tweeted: “I wonder if it was a conscious decision to use a World War I Victory memorial as the centerpiece for @AOC’s #GND poster?”

“Charlie Kirk tweeted: “Why does this seem like something the Soviet Union would post throughout the Red Square?”
“Derek Hunter tweeted: “Communists, fascists, and socialists love their posters. People may suffer and die, but there will be state-sanctioned ‘art.'”
“Tom Rogan tweeted: “These posters have a weirdly Soviet/Maoist/NoKo quality to them.”
Our #GreenNewDeal posters are inspired by the original New Deal, updated for our future.
During the New Deal, FDR launched Federal One, a US project that employed 5,300 artists that created & taught art to envision America’s future.

AOC has previously pushed her signature “Green New Deal” and has claimed that it will transform the American economy and rescue the United States from the dire threat of climate change. She has predicted that Democrats will take both chambers of Congress and the White House by 2020 – ushering in a “decade of the Green New Deal” that will prompt the “social and ecological transformation to save the planet.”
“Lots of people gave up, they said we were doomed,” she said after blaming fossil fuel companies like Exxon for saddling the public with the cost of climate issues. “But some of us remembered that as a nation, we’d been in peril before — the Great Depression, WWII — we knew from our history how to pull together to overcome impossible odds,” she said.

Ocasio-Cortez also reiterated the need for large-scale solutions to tackle climate change. She warned that the cost of action was lower than the death and monetary damages that would result from inaction. “We need to start getting comfortable with how extreme the problem is,” she said, “because only until we accept … how bad climate change is and how bad it can be for our children’s lives, are we going to be comfortable pursuing really big solutions.”
She also warned that melting glaciers could unleash a variety of diseases that the modern world is unprepared to deal with. In other words, she is playing an apocalyptic Chicken Little here.

It is also not lost on me that AOC is using capitalistic fundraising to push Marxism. FDR did the same thing and used fear-mongering expertly to accomplish his New Deal.
Per Wikipedia: “The New Deal was a series of programs, public work projects, financial reforms, and regulations enacted by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in the United States between 1933 and 1936. It responded to needs for relief, reform, and recovery from the Great Depression. Major federal programs included the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), the Civil Works Administration (CWA), the Farm Security Administration (FSA), the National Industrial Recovery Act of 1933 (NIRA) and the Social Security Administration (SSA). They provided support for farmers, the unemployed, youth and the elderly. The New Deal included new constraints and safeguards on the banking industry and efforts to re-inflate the economy after prices had fallen sharply. New Deal programs included both laws passed by Congress as well as presidential executive orders during the first term of the presidency of Franklin D. Roosevelt.”
“The programs focused on what historians refer to as the “3 Rs”: Relief for the unemployed and poor, recovery of the economy back to normal levels and reform of the financial system to prevent a repeat depression. The New Deal produced a political realignment, making the Democratic Party the majority (as well as the party that held the White House for seven out of the nine presidential terms from 1933 to 1969) with its base in liberal ideas, the South, traditional[clarification needed] Democrats, big city machines and the newly empowered labor unions and ethnic minorities. The Republicans were split, with conservatives opposing the entire New Deal as hostile to business and economic growth and liberals in support. The realignment crystallized into the New Deal coalition that dominated presidential elections into the 1960s while the opposing conservative coalition largely controlled Congress in domestic affairs from 1937 to 1964.”

FDR’s actions here did not restore the economy as liberals would have you believe. It prolonged the Depression and set socialist policies in the U.S. that are still crippling and hurting this nation to this day.
During the New Deal, the communists established a network of a dozen or so members working for the government. Harold Ware led the largest group which worked in the Agriculture Adjustment Administration (AAA) until Secretary of Agriculture Wallace got rid of them all in a famous purge in 1935. Ware died in 1935 and some individuals such as Alger Hiss moved to other government jobs. Other communists worked for the National Labor Relations Board, the National Youth Administration, the Works Progress Administration, the Federal Theater Project, the Treasury and the Department of State. Communists are still sprinkled throughout our government.

Ocasio-Cortez said the posters were inspired by the “original New Deal” and compared her poster alongside that of a 1939 Federal Art Project poster showing Wyoming’s Jenny Lake located in Grand Teton National Park.
FDR employed similar propaganda to AOC’s. She is attempting to follow in his footsteps in an even more disastrous fashion. “During the New Deal, FDR launched Federal One, a US project that employed 5,300 artists that created & taught art to envision America’s future,” Ocasio Cortez added. She is embracing public socialism and seducing a younger generation with the deadly siren-call of communism a la FDR and propaganda.
