Obama’s Former White House Counsel To Be Indicted on Federal Corruption Charges This Week

In the first of what is expected to be many indictments related to Obama and Hillary, Greg Craig, former Obama WH counsel, is expects to be indicted on federal corruption charges over a scandal with Ukraine this week. The charges stem from the Mueller investigation. He is charged with lying.

The statute of limitations for the matter for which Craig was originally investigated, having failed to register as a foreign agent, has expired.

“Greg Craig is not guilty of any charge and the government’s stubborn insistence on prosecuting Greg Craig is a misguided abuse of prosecutorial discretion,” the attorneys, William Taylor and William Murphy, said in a statement.

Rather interesting, considering the false narrative the Democrats are putting out concerning Trump and that exact same “prosecutorial discretion.”

USA Today explains:

The investigation into Craig comes as the Justice Department is cracking down on unregistered foreign lobbying and consulting. Federal prosecutors in New York have been investigating two prominent Washington lobbying firms in a similar probe, and Justice Department officials in Washington have been increasingly willing to prosecute people who they believe intentionally conceal their lobbying work from the federal government.

The scrutiny of Greg Craig stems from an investigation of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his work on behalf of a pro-Russian political party in Ukraine. [Long before the Trump campaign]

If filed, the charges would come about three months after Craig’s former law firm agreed to pay more than $4.6 million and publicly acknowledge that it failed to register with the government for its work for the Ukraine.

The civil settlement with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP laid much of the blame for the firm’s conduct on Craig, who was a senior partner.

Craig’s lawyers did not say why they expect him to be charged. They said federal prosecutors in New York had declined charges, but they expected an indictment to be brought by the U.S. Attorney’s office in Washington at the request of the Justice Department’s national security division.

The lawyers’ assertion could not be confirmed Wednesday evening. Spokesmen for the Justice Department and the U.S. Attorney’s office declined to comment.

Interesting to note that Paul Manafort, one time Trump top presidential campaign adviser, is serving a lengthy prison sentence on corruption convictions for actions he committed long before he worked for Trump.

Mueller’s team found these violations, charged Manafort, and prosecuted him successfully.

The activities for which Manafort was charged and convicted had nothing to do with President Trump.

Now Greg Craig, however, is a top Democrat who served as Obama’s counsel in the White House. His charges stem from work he performed for Ukraine in 2012.

He also served as a senior official in former Democrat President Bill Clinton’s White House and worked in high levels of Democrat politics for many years prior to and after that. Clinton had reportedly even offered him the White House counsel job back then, but he turned it down in 1996.

This item is just the very tip of the iceberg of serious problems for the Democrats, especially the Podestas and maybe even Clinton or Obama themselves, down the road.

There are two big tornadoes coming. Huber and Horowitz.

Jeff Sessions secretly picked U.S Attorney Huber two years ago to dig into whether the FBI misused its power when it obtained a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant to monitor former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. He also is supposed to be reviewing whether the FBI mishandled investigations into 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. There is an understanding that his work is close to completion.

DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz confirmed at a panel discussion last month that his office is continuing to review potential surveillance abuses by the FBI.

It is review that began March 2018 and is also nearing completion. Horowitz has previously found that senior FBI officials routinely leaked information without authorization to the media, and also received “improper gifts” from reporters, including meals and sporting event tickets. Most notably, Horowitz found that FBI officials’ anti-Trump communications raised doubts as to the integrity of their work.

Among the primary looming questions that the IG has said he will address, and that Huber is expected to review:

Did the FBI follow all applicable “legal requirements” when FBI lawyer Lisa Page and then-Deputy Director Andrew McCabe obtained a FISA warrant to spy on Trump aide Carter Page, weeks before the 2016 presidential election, by relying heavily on a dossier created by a firm working for the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee?

Patience folks. It is coming, and Greg Craig seems to be the first piece to fall. A small piece, but a piece. It will not be long until dominoes start tipping over faster and faster. Keep you popcorn ready!
