NRA Takes Aim At Red-State Democrat John Tester for Opposing Neil Gorsuch!

Democrats just don’t get it! Here’s a Senator who talks a good game, until it comes time for him to vote. Sen. John Tester (D-MT) says he supports the 2nd Amendment, but then he votes against pro-gun, Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. Sen. Tester did what most politicians do wrong….he talked a good game, but he just doesn’t follow through with actions to support his talk, when it comes down to the real test…voting.

Now, the NRA that backed Tester’s previous election is coming after Tester, but THIS time, it’s a different story.

Sen. John Tester voted to put anti-gun justices on the Supreme Court, not ONCE, but TWICE! He had a third chance to redeem himself with his voters, with a vote for Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch, but BLEW IT! He didn’t learn. Now, the NRA is sending a targeted message aimed at Sen. Tester’s voters in Montana.

Sen. John Tester has been put on notice by the NRA. The NRA is going to fund a Republican challenger to primary Sen. Tester, a challenger who will ACTUALLY vote FOR the 2nd Amendment and vote for Pro-2nd Amendment judges.  I don’t know about you, but I sure wouldn’t want to be in that ‘gun fight’.

H/T Conservative Tribune:

During the confirmation process for Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, Republican groups, including the NRA, made it clear that they would target any red-state Democrat who opposed his nomination.

Democrat Montana Sen. Jon Tester was one of those red-state Democrats who opposed Gorsuch, and now the NRA has announced that it won’t forget what he did, Breitbart reported.

Here was the earlier ad in Montana sponsored by the NRA:

“Instead of standing up for Montanans’ constitutional rights, Sen. Tester succumbed to pressure from liberal elites and voted against the confirmation of Judge Gorsuch,” read a picture the NRA tweeted that contained a quote from Chris W. Cox, the Executive Director of the NRA Institute for Legislative Action.

“The NRA won’t let Montanans forget that Sen. Tester turned his back on their freedoms and voted against Gorsuch,” read the caption the NRA tweeted along with the photo.

NRA-ILA also released a statement blasting Tester for refusing to respect the will of the voters. Their statement pointed out that Montanans voted for a pro-Second Amendment president — but Tester voted against his pro-Second Amendment nominee.

“Today, Sen. Tester played partisan politics with a qualified U.S. Supreme Court nominee who will protect Montanans’ Constitutional right to self-protection,” Cox stated.

The Washington Examiner noted that the NRA spent millions of dollars for ads targeting “Sens. Claire McCaskill of Missouri, Jon Tester of Montana, Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota and Joe Donnelly of Indiana” to try to convince them to vote for Gorsuch.

Very few red-state Democrats actually voted for Gorsuch. They, like Tester, could live to regret their decision in 2018 when the voters go the polls.

Gorsuch was confirmed to the Supreme Court on April 7 by a vote of 54 to 45. He is broadly viewed as a justice who is “very much in the mold of Justice Scalia.” Throughout his confirmation hearings Gorsuch stood firm on the crucial District of Columbia v Heller (2008) decision, telling Senate Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), “Whatever is in Heller is the law and I follow the law.”

Looks like Democrats just don’t get it! Just like 2010, 2014, and the election in 2018…Democrats have lost seats!

If Sen. Jon Tester of Montana thinks he’s going to keep his seat, he’s in for a big fight from the NRA.  Where’s the popcorn, this is going to be fun to watch.

. should have sided with his constituents – not anti- elites in D.C. It’s that simple.
