New Mexico Dem Governor Now Begging For Help On Illegal Immigration After Pulling Troops From Border
New Mexico’s Democratic Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s approval rating is barely above water according to a new poll, which found 43 percent of New Mexico voters disapproved of Lujan Grisham’s job performance – the sixth-highest disapproval rating among all governors. And no wonder..
Governor Grisham is now hypocritically crawling to President Trump in Washington, DC with her hand out over illegal immigration. This is a governor who lashed Trump for sending National Guard troops to New Mexico’s border with Mexico, calling it a political stunt. She then pulled those troops. That was an ill-considered politicized move on her part.
Grisham is no fan of President Trump and his immigration policies. She’s not shy about letting it be known either. In February, she condemned what she called Trump’s “charade of border fear-mongering” and announced she was withdrawing most of the New Mexico National Guard troops deployed to the U.S.-Mexico border in her state. Her constituents were incensed over it – enough to rally towards impeachment.
“I reject the federal contention that there exists an overwhelming national security crisis at the Southern border,” Lujan Grisham said, according to NPR. The good people of New Mexico see it differently and it would seem that Grisham is beginning to see that light as well. Her comments came just more than one week before Trump declared a national emergency in response to the overwhelming migrant crisis at the border and they have not aged well.
Three short months after Grisham’s grandstanding against Trump, she is now seeking the federal government’s assistance to manage the impacts of the border crisis on New Mexico. According to KOAT-TV, Lujan Grisham met with federal officials in Washington, DC last week, including acting-Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan, to discuss the ongoing crisis.

She asked McAleenan to increase government personnel at the border and requested reimbursement for humanitarian assistance, among other resources. Wait… so now, she wants the National Guard back? Go figure. “The governor wants to continue to urge the federal government to increase its personnel on the border as a means of improving the logistical and communications output,” the governor’s spokesman, Tripp Stelnicki, told KOAT. That is the very definition of hypocrisy.
Republicans eviscerated the governor over her flip-flopping. “She declares there’s no crisis. She removes the National Guard, and now she’s there asking for money,” New Mexico GOP Chairman Steve Pearce mocked, KOAT reported. “Everything in her actions indicate that she believes there’s a crisis, but yet she will not dedicate the resources or request to her colleagues in Congress to start passing the laws that will change the situation there,” he criticized. “The border communities are going to continue to be overrun.”
The president’s plan to declare a national emergency is gratuitous, legally dubious and reflective of his soft grasp of the facts of governance.

The problem with Grisham is she wants it both ways… it’s typical radical leftism. She wants Trump to save her from the invading hordes but at the same time, she wants to accuse of him of political pandering and horrible crimes. Make up your mind woman. You can’t deny there is a crisis and then demand that Trump save you.
To make matters worse for Grisham, numerous counties are refusing the relocation of illegal immigrants to their towns. Many of these counties have surging poverty rates already… in excess of 20%. Another situation only made worse by an incompetent liberal at the helm.
Status update of petition to recall Gov. Lujan… Looks like we are at the midpoint. https://t.co/xfQtfB7X8v

Per Liberty Nation:
“According to Deming City Administrator Aaron Sera, in Luna County, buses unload between 300 and 500 immigrants each day. As a town of a 14,183, it has been mercilessly overwhelmed by the governor’s dangerous game of partisan politics. Even larger enclaves, such as Las Cruces, have been overrun with illegal aliens, completely depleting community and local government resources as they’re forced to house and care for 6,000 asylum seekers – and all in a matter of four short weeks.
“In February, Grisham made national news for thumbing her nose at the president, her citizens, and national security when she sent the National Guard packing. She blithely stated: “New Mexico will not take part in the president’s charade of border fear-mongering,” and received a blast of positive kudos from Democrat toadies in the Swamp. It fit their narrative perfectly and from a border state to boot.
By being possibly the most disgraceful and incompetent government official in the country. After your very public rebuttal of the border crisis you now go to Trump with hat in hand begging for help as your poor citizens are overrun and bankrupted by your stupidity. Resign

“But three short months later, after recall and impeachment petitions, shameful national news coverage of cities and towns overwhelmed by the “charade,” and 31 of 33 counties expressing their disdain for Grisham through resolutions, the governor is now asking President Trump and the Department of Homeland Security for their help.
“The governor wants to continue to urge the federal government to increase its personnel on the border as a means of improving the logistical and communications output,” said spokesman Tripp Stelnicki, whose head must be spinning like a top after Grisham’s desperate about face. He also hinted that the events in Otero County may be spiking fear in Grisham as other municipalities and counties are jumping on Griffin’s bandwagon. And frankly, no one is buying what Grisham is selling anymore.
New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham IGNORED her constituents pleas for HELP at our border dismissing the crisis as ‘fabricated’
Now, she’s asking for government assistance 🤷🏼♀️

“Steve Pearce, Chairman of the New Mexico Republican Party, who ran against Grisham in 2018 for the role of governor, reminded:
“She declares there’s no crisis. She removes the National Guard and now she’s there asking for money. Everything in her actions indicate that she believes there’s a crisis, but yet she will not dedicate the resources or request to her colleagues in Congress to start passing the laws that will change the situation there.”
“The Trump administration will ensure that resources for the state are granted but it won’t come for free – there will a pound of flesh extracted from the foolish New Mexico governor to be spiked and paraded through the 2020 election. Perhaps after a disastrous first quarter in office, Grisham will begin to listen to her constituents. But it’s doubtful – which is why a recall or impeachment is still being pursued by citizens. What should terrify the governor is this highly motivated electorate, bent on removing her from office – and that describes the uprising in the Land of Enchantment to a “T.”’
Governor, I am saddened as how you are using this crisis for your own political gain. You could have helped stop this onslaught of migrants, but you refuse to acknowledge we need a border with Mexico and to have an orderly legal immigration system.

Grisham will almost certainly not be reelected after this insanity. Good riddance… that’s the best thing that could happen in New Mexico at this point. Well, that… and building a wall with security added and reelecting President Trump.
.@GovMLG : is this a crisis yet?

I beg you to listen to the people/citizens of the state you're in charge of. The majority of the people in your state do not approve of the way you are handling the wave of illegal immigrants. You cannot afford to keep dealing with this crisis passively.
