House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) this week compared the Democrat-led impeachment effort to the American Revolution, telling a crowd at the Democratic National Committee’s Women’s Leadership Forum that “the times have found us.” This is not the first time she has said this. She also said it a couple of weeks ago at a press conference where she compared the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry to our Founders fighting the War of Independence against Great Britain.
“As you’ve heard me say over and over again: In the dark days of the Revolution, Thomas Paine said, ‘The times have found us.’ We think the times have found us now,” said Pelosi two weeks ago. House Intelligence Chair Adam Schiff was standing next to her at the time.
“Not that we place ourselves in the category of greatness of our founders,” she added, “but we do place ourselves in a time of urgency on the threat to the Constitution, a system of checks and balances, that is being made.”
“[Our founders] fought for our independence,” the speaker continued. “They declared independence. They fought and won. They established a democracy.”
Pelosi has recently caved to her far-left base in calling for the impeachment of President Trump… sort of. She won’t hold a formal vote on it. This is so the Democrats can hold secret hearings and not allow Republicans in. It also denies Trump due process — he can’t see the evidence against him or call witnesses oh his behalf. In other words, it’s an attempted coup using impeachment as cover. It is unconstitutional, illegal, and won’t work but they are trying it anyway. That’s how desperate the Democrats are because they know they can’t beat Trump in 2020.

“Now at the beginning of our country – Mr. Chairman, I know you’ve heard me say this many times, so forgive me – beginning of our country, Thomas Paine said this is the dark days of the Revolution. He said that times have found us,” she stated, declaring that Democrats see themselves in a similar position.
“The times have found us,” she continued.
“We think the times have found us now– you, Mr. Chairman, everyone in this room who sacrificed their time, resources, and the rest. No need to be here but to be there for our candidates so that we can make a better future,” Pelosi said.
“None of us came to Congress to impeach a president. Not anybody, not anybody. That’s not what we are about,” she continued. “But we did take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States from all enemies foreign and domestic”:
House Democrats are engaged in “Soviet style” tactics in their effort to attack @realDonaldTrump.

“Pelosi’s claim that none of the Democrat lawmakers came to Congress with the intention of pursuing impeachment against the president is patently false. Some members of the far-left “Squad” called for President Trump’s impeachment prior to taking office. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), for instance, appeared on Real America with Jorge Ramos last fall – prior to taking office – and called impeachment a “no-brainer.”
“I mean, yeah. To me, it’s a no-brainer,” Ocasio-Cortez told Ramos.
“Well, I believe that he has violated the law. Violated potentially many laws, whether it’s the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution because he keeps his businesses open that foreign actors kind of participate in financial transactions with.
“Whether it’s what we are seeing with potentially illegal buyouts of campaign, you know, FEC violations of women that he is trying to silence.”
This ridiculous analogy only works with her rank/file followers who have a clue what "The American Revolution War" was.

Obviously, Pelosi has as much an idea of what the American Revolution pertained to as she does the Bible and Christianity. Pelosi is attempting to draw a false parallel here and it won’t work. I doubt it will be the last time she pulls this stunt though. Bet on it.
Maybe somebody should tell Pelosi what Thomas Paine really thought about the Big Government the Democrats love so much. Not that she would listen or get it even if she did.
It is amazing how little Democrats actually know about the United States or its' history.

GOP Rep. Steve Scalise slammed Pelosi’s unofficial impeachment inquiry earlier this week; blasting the Democratic Party’s “soviet style tactics” in silencing Republicans. He’s right, of course. These secret proceedings and lack of due process are facist and totally un-American. They echo the Russians perfectly.
Should the Democrats somehow remove a legitimate president like Trump, they would find out what a revolutionary war truly feels like. And they won’t like it one little bit. Americans won’t stand for this kind of totalitarianism from the left in this country.
The revolutionary war was fought bc of ppl like her. Ppl who want to take power away from others and give no voice is what brought us to that point.
