You have GOT to be kidding me?! Just when you thought you heard it all! Here’s a MSM magazine that just came out with the most unemployed, most disrespected citizen in America and named him ‘Citizen of the Year’! Talk about insane! GQ must not have or want any new consumers that are conservatives! This is insane!
Monthly publication GQ Magazine named former San Francisco 49er’s quarterback Colin Kaepernick as its “Citizen of the Year” in its “Men of the Year” edition, which is subtitled, “The New American Heroes.”
Apparently, this is no joke.
It boggles the mind to think of how this recognition came to be, but GQ author Martin Schoeller explained how the unemployed agitator wound up on the magazine’s cover.
Schoeller said that Kaepernick is not working because he has been “blackballed” for kneeling during the playing of our national anthem. Schoeller also claimed that there are approximately 90 men playing quarterback for the NFL and Kaepernick is “indisputably” better than 70 of them.
There are many who would argue with Schoeller’s assessment of Kaepernick’s talent. In fact, 2017 was not one of the player’s best years in football because, if had been, he would surely still be employed.
It’s pretty clear the NFL does not blackball players who protest, as many players are still protesting.
But the bigger issue here is how GQ equates manliness with disrespecting our flag, our police officers and our military.
GQ must be confused.
Like many on the left, the publishers at the magazine still do not understand why we all don’t acknowledge Kaepernick for being some kind of hero.
It’s simple: because what the former football star did was not heroic — it was disgraceful.
A more fitting title for Kaepernick would be “Spoiled Brat of the Year” or “Crybaby of the Year.”
Unfortunately, this kind of “recognition” is what happens when the left attempts to control our culture.
Who’s next GQ, Harvey Weinstein? Give me a frickin’ break!
Colin Kaepernick is a moron. I’m sorry, but anyone that disrespects our flag, our military and our national anthem is not a hero by ANY means. Heroes are on the real battlefield. Heroes risk their lives fighting to defend our freedom every day against evil in the world. Colin Kaepernick wouldn’t know what honor is if it bit him in the behind. ‘Citizen of the Year’ – that is pathetic.
If GQ wanted to award an NFL player for ‘Citizen of the Year’ they could have chosen someone like NFL Houston Texans tight end, JJ Watt.
J.J. Watt’s fundraiser for Hurricane Harvey relief officially the Texans‘ star defensive end. Watts raised over $37 million to help those in need after Hurricane Harvey flooded Houston.
From Sports Illustrated:
In August, Hurricane Harvey hit Houston and an estimated 27 trillion gallons of rain fell over Texas and parts of Louisiana over a span of six days. Watt says that it is estimated the total recovery could require upwards of $200 billion.
Watt says $30.15 million will go to Americares, Feeding America, SBP and Save the Children to be distributed over the next 18 to 24 months. Money will be used to rebuild homes, restore child-care centers, provide food and address the health needs of those affected by Hurricane Harvey and the surrounding communities. The remaining $7 million will be set aside for distribution in 2018 after assessing and analyzing future relief efforts.
“I have said it many times over the course of the past few months, but it bears repeating again: The most difficult times seem to bring out the best in humanity,” Watt said in his statement.
“I cannot thank everyone enough for their support and donations from across the country and around the world. You have truly shown what is possible when everyone bands together for one common cause. While we are going to do some incredible things with this $37 million to make it stretch as far as possible, it is only one small step in the massive recovery effort that lies ahead. I encourage you to please continue to find organizations to donate to, whether they be some of the ones listed below or others. Houston will bounce back from this and we will rise up stronger than ever.”
Now, please don’t try tell me that Colin Kaepernick, a NFL player who organized other players to disrespect our national anthem and military deserves ‘Citizen of the Year’ over someone like JJ Watt, a NFL player who organized a huge humanitarian effort and fundraiser to assist citizens in need due to Hurricane Harvey. If GQ had to choose a NFL player it would have been JJ Watt! Seriously!
Well, it looks like GQ really knows how to pick winners doesn’t it?
