MSM Infers Sexual Innuendo in Trump Tweet; WH Responds ‘Only if your Mind is in the Gutter’

It is really starting to get to the point that anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of public opinion. The MSM hangs on every word, action or tweet that comes from Donald Trump just hoping that they can twist a morsel of information into something scandalous.

President Trump has consistently used Twitter to call out his political opponents, male and female alike. But it was his tweet this week about Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (Democrat from New York) that is being scrutinized for deeper meaning.

The White House fought back against accusations that President Donald Trump included a sexual innuendo when he attacked Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y.

“I think only if your mind is in the gutter would you have read it that way,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in response to a question about that possibility, according to Politico.

“There’s no way that this is sexist at all. This is simply talking about a system that we have that is broken in which special interests control our government,” Sanders continued.

On Tuesday morning, President Trump aired grievances with Gillibrand, a Democrat senator from New York, via his favorite social media platform.

“Lightweight Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a total flunky for Chuck Schumer and someone who would come to my office ‘begging’ for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them), is now in the ring fighting against Trump,” he wrote early Tuesday morning.

He also accused the junior senator from New York of being “very disloyal” to Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton.

While its not completely clear why the president singled out Gillibrand, it appears the tweet was instigated after she had lead calls for him to resign from office following multiple accusations of sexual conduct.

At question is Trump’s assertion that Gillibrand would do “anything” for campaign donations and include “begging” in quotation marks.

Many critics of the president are accusing him of suggesting sexual impropriety in his attack.

Gillibrand responded in a subsequent tweet. “You cannot silence me or the millions of women who have gotten off the sidelines to speak out about the unfitness and shame you have brought to the Oval Office.”

Sanders, however, completely dismissed the notion that his tweet was anything close to sexual innuendo, stating that it was an “attack on donation-seeking politicians.”

“The system is clearly broken. It’s clearly rigged for special interests. And this president is someone that can’t be bought and one of the reasons that he’s president today.”

During the presidential election, Trump’s stance against special interests was a major theme of his campaign, pledging he would not be beholden to lobbyist money or big-donors.

I have to agree with Sanders (as usual, she is sort of a genius). If I had read that tweet on any normal day, I wouldn’t have thought anything of the phrase “and would do anything for them.” That can mean ANYTHING. It can mean she would be deceitful to get what she wants. It could mean she would be disloyal to get what she wants. It could mean she would pay for what she wants. It could mean a million things, but to jump to sexual favors? Come on!

The problem, of course, is that the media is so hypersensitive these days that they see everything through a lens filtering for possible sexual harassment. Do they honestly believe that Trump would tweet out that Kirsten Gillibrand was willing to give sexual favors for campaign contributions? Well, they probably do. But that is because they believe the worst of him and are searching far and wide for evidence to confirm what they believe. This bias is reflected in every story they do on the President.

I read the tweet and believe that Trump is saying Gillibrand is shady and would make deals for contributions. This is obvious to anyone who doesn’t read the tweet looking for a scandal. The MSM is grasping at straws here, but I think the American people are smart enough to see through it.
