Liberals Come Unglued On Twitter After Kid Rock Mocks Taylor Swift For Becoming A Democrat

I used to really enjoy Taylor Swift’s music when it was country and light pop. Then she moved to New York City and went liberal. So, not so much these days. I’ve watched her drift ever leftward over the last few years. Swift just explained to leftist magazine Vogue why she was not politically active in 2016 because she was worried that she would harm then-Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Oh, brother.

“Unfortunately in the 2016 election you had a political opponent who was weaponizing the idea of the celebrity endorsement,” Swift said, speaking of Trump. “He was going around saying, ‘I’m a man of the people. I’m for you. I care about you.’ I just knew I wasn’t going to help.” Evidently, Kid Rock heard that and just couldn’t stay silent on it any longer.

No one does crass the way Kid Rock does… it’s part of his charm. He slammed Taylor Swift on Twitter over her decision to inject more politics into her music in an attempt to help Democrats ahead of the 2020 elections. Kid Rock tweeted, “Taylor Swift wants to be a democrat because she wants to be in movies….period. And it looks like she will suck the doorknob off Hollyweird to get there. Oldest move in the book. Good luck girl. -Kid Rock” Crude, but in my opinion, accurate.

From The Daily Wire:

“According to Fox News, Swift noted that her reputation at that time was not good, saying, “Also, you know, the summer before that election, all people were saying was, ‘She’s calculated. She’s manipulative. She’s not what she seems. She’s a snake. She’s a liar.’ These are the same exact insults people were hurling at Hillary. Would I be an endorsement or would I be a liability? ‘Look, snakes of a feather flock together. Look, the two lying women. The two nasty women.’ Literally millions of people were telling me to disappear. So I disappeared. In many senses.”

“In May, Swift acknowledged that her music is becoming more political and that she is trying to promote an agenda.

“I definitely think there are political undertones in the new music I made,” Swift said. “I’m not planning to stop encouraging young people to vote and to try to get them to talk about what’s going on in our country. I think that’s one of the most important things I could do.”‘

Of course, the left came totally unglued over all of this calling Kid Rock pathetic and proceeding to boycott his music. I actually like some of his music and that should have nothing to do with this. If Swift is going to dip her dainty toes into the big-boy pool of politics, she should know that she’s going to get nailed for perceived hypocrisy.

The phrase “Kid Rock” trended on Twitter nationally after his tweet. He really created a storm on social media. Swift has not responded yet but she eventually will, I’m sure. Swift had been praised by conservatives for staying out of politics but was excoriated on the left for not publicly supporting their political causes. The pop superstar then came out strongly for the LGBTQ lobby with her song “You Need to Calm Down,” which depicted critics of the cause as ignorant bigots.

Kid Rock is a strong supporter of President Trump, so if Swift has decided to help the Democratic nominee in 2020 with her music, Kid Rock is up to the challenge and he is a bare-knuckles sort of guy.

Swift will appear in the movie adaptation of the broadway musical “Cats” set to be released later this year. That production is already being made massive fun of and probably will not be good for her career. But her narcissism is getting way out of hand here: “Rights are being stripped from basically everyone who isn’t a straight white cisgender male,” she said. “I didn’t realize until recently that I could advocate for a community that I’m not a part of. It’s hard to know how to do that without being so fearful of making a mistake that you just freeze. Because my mistakes are very loud. When I make a mistake, it echoes through the canyons of the world. It’s clickbait, and it’s a part of my life story, and it’s a part of my career arc.”

Wow, she really is in love with herself. It’s not just a spring thing after all.

Swift has said her upcoming album, Lover, will have political undertones, and she even endorsed Tennessee Democrats Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for the House of Representatives.

“In the past, I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now,” she wrote on Instagram in October 2018. “I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country.”

Swift’s activism also includes speaking out against gun violence in March 2018 and making a donation to March For Our Lives ahead of the organization’s rally in Washington D.C.

In 2019, she made a $113,000 donation to the Tennessee Equality Project, which advocates for LGBTQ+ rights by supporting inclusive legislation, and was an active part of Pride Month in June during which she dropped a new song, “You Need to Calm Down,” which targeted homophobia.

Kid Rock’s tweet was brazen and crass but the truth hurts. Swift has jumped into the political ring and the Motor City musician is already warmed up to take her on.
