Most conservatives are saying good riddance after hearing this piece of news — after 23 years, Shepard Smith is leaving Fox News. A development that is not nearly the shock the mainstream media would have you believe. As I understand it, it’s been in the making for at least a year at Fox News. It’s no secret that things between Smith, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham have been beyond tense. The recent spat between Smith and Carlson over Judge Napolitano standing against Trump over Biden’s dealings in Ukraine and China was evidently the last straw for Shepard.
“The tension between Mr. Smith and some of his Fox News colleagues had recently burst into open view. Mr. Smith denounced a guest on Tucker Carlson’s program for making “repugnant” comments about a Fox News legal analyst, Andrew Napolitano. Mr. Carlson fired back at Mr. Smith with a not-so-subtle suggestion of bias, saying, “Unlike maybe some dayside hosts, I’m not very partisan.””
Shepard Smith was a liberal masquerading as non-partisan on Fox News. He had a special contempt for President Trump and did not even try to hide it. There was nothing fair and balanced about it. He was a good reporter as long as he stayed away from politics… which he didn’t try to do. Smith outright lied about being a leftist and Fox News watchers could not stomach it. His ratings showed it, they were awful. There are a number of anti-Trump people at Fox but they don’t pretend to be something they aren’t. Smith did and was despised for it. That is dishonest and cowardly.
Notice that the leftist media outlets are mourning the departure of Shep Smith. That should tell you all you need to know right there. Smith nipped at Trump’s heels at every opportunity and took underhanded swipes at his colleagues. In the end, Smith was yet another divisive talking head for radical leftists. He will not be missed by most of us.

Fox News is painting Smith as some kind of journalistic iconic hero. I strongly disagree with that assertion. In a statement released by Fox News Media President Jay Wallace Friday afternoon, he called Smith “one of the premier newscasters of his generation and his extraordinary body of work is among the finest journalism in the industry.” Please. “His integrity and outstanding reporting from the field helped put Fox News on the map and there is simply no better breaking news anchor who has the ability to transport a viewer to a place of conflict, tragedy, despair or elation through his masterful delivery.”
President Trump has lashed out at Smith, saying that he should be working at CNN due to his low ratings. I agree and would not be surprised to see Smith wind up over there.

Don’t feel too sorry for Shep Smith. He had a $15 million a year contract. It takes either rock-solid principals or cringe-worthy arrogance to walk away from something like that. I’m betting on arrogance here.
Smith will be replaced by a rotating line-up of hosts until a permanent replacement is selected to take over at the 3 pm hour. A Fox News spokesperson says for now the show will be called FOX News Reporting with Jon Scott and Trace Gallagher. Former Fox News reporter Carl Cameron told MSNBC that ‘it will be telling’ to see who steps into Smith’s slot. Indeed it will be.
