Kamala Harris Lies About Gun Violence Statistics; Tripled the True Data!
Democrat presidential hopeful Kamala Harris recently exaggerated gun violence statistics by three times, calling it an “epidemic”. She stated that guns are responsible for 100 deaths a day in America and then suggested that “gun violence is a national epidemic.” The problem is that neither are even close to being true.
Gun violence is not an epidemic. FBI stats show that there are about 11-11,500 gun deaths a years. That comes out to 0.03% of the population. Tragic and sad, but far removed from an epidemic.
But she stated that there are 100 deaths a year, and then went straight into gun violence, leaving the connotation that those are all gun violence. The problem is, that 2/3 of that number are suicides, not gun violence.
11-11,500 deaths a year due to gun violence. That is .03% of the population. The population of one very small town. Sad and tragic are each death. Wish it was zero. But honey, that ain't no epidemic in any way, shape, or form. Criminals do not follow rules. Gun Control Fails.

What she also failed to mention was that the number of 100 gun deaths a day comes from 2017 figures, which are an anomaly of high gun-related deaths for a given year.
in other words, she lied, three times!
My friend AWR Hawkins at Breitbart gives some great commentary:
Two things need to be noted: First, this is a method Hillary Clinton used in 2016. On April 11, 2016, Breitbart News reported that Clinton swelled “gun violence” deaths by 66 percent during comments at the Gun Violence Prevention Discussion. Clinton said that “90 people a day die from gun violence,” then added, “That is 33,000 people a year.” In reality, roughly 11,000-11,500 people die from “gun violence” in a given year in America. The other 20,000-22,000 gun-related deaths are suicides (along with the 500 annual accidental gun deaths). But Clinton lumped it all together as deaths from “gun violence,” and now, Harris combines it all with her claim that “gun violence is a national epidemic.”
Second, gun-related deaths in 2017 did spike, but Chicago Tribune editorial board member Steve Chapman noted that gun control would not change that. And that is because the causal factor in the rise of 2017 deaths was not “gun violence,” but suicides. Yet Chapman noted that the rate of non-firearm-related suicides outpaced the rate of firearm-related suicides, even in 2017.
He also noted that Japan, which has some of the most stringent gun controls in the world, has a far higher suicide rate than the United States. People in Japan simply kill themselves in other ways and do so more frequently.
Gun control is not the answer.
There is a reason the left always has to create a false narrative. Gun conrol does not work, and the true narrative proves it. It really is not complicated.
First, criminals do not follow rules. They are going to get guns no matter what you legislate. Always.
Second, we can look at the states and cities. California and Chicago have very stringent gun laws, and yet much higher than normal gun violence! Why? Refer to rule number one! Beyond that, when criminals know that citizens cannot protect themselves, they are emboldened.
Most gun massacres occur in gun free zones. Gun free zones are as effective as a bank being a robbery free zone!
Higher rates of gun ownership are not associated with higher rates of violent crime. There is no clear relationship between strict gun control legislation & homicide/violent crime rates.
Legally owned firearms are used for lawful purposes more than they are used to commit crimes.
As always, Kamala hands us a very false narrative, and used lies to push it. Abhorrent!
