Kaepernick LOST! Players Stop Kneeling: NFL Ratings Climb Significantly!

After two full seasons of major ratings decline, this year has shown significant improvement for the NFL as few players kneel for the National Anthem.

In fact, USA Today reported that for the first week, in a league with nearly 2,000 players, just two players knelt.

The issue has basically dwindled to nothing, and Colin Kaepernick has lost. The game he started with the American people is kaput!

Through 16 weeks of the regular season, NFL games across all its TV partners are averaging 15.82 million viewers, up about 6 percent from the 2017 season. Far from a full recovery, but at least in the right direction.

The ratings rise directly correlates with the huge bulk of players stopping the protest during the National Anthem.

The whole scenario was not without its ramifications.

Ratings had already made a very significant dive and stadiums were having a hard time filling seats. The problems filtered into merchandise and network advertising. In fact, at one point, networks were forced to pay back advertising revenue.

Kaepernick is still unemployed. Despite being 29 and a resume that suggests he’s one of the better 32 quarterbacks in the world, he hasn’t worked since the end of that 2016 season.

America still has a bad taste in its mouth for the NFL. It will take a few seasons to get fully past this.

It began when Kaepernick decided to sit in August, 2016, during the playing of the national anthem. After the game, he told the media that he sat because of oppression and police brutality against people of color.

Two days later, after his protest had gained national attention, Kaepernick expanded on his remarks in a news conference. Among other things, he said he had great respect for American military service members but wanted to give a voice to people who are never heard.

From there, the protests grew, as many other players decided to copy Kaepernick’s antics!

Eventually, Kaepernick was released from his contract with the 49ers.

After two years of chaos, the NFL adopted a new policy on May 23, 2018, mandating that players and team personnel present on the sideline “shall stand and show respect for the flag and the anthem.”

They shortly reversed that policy after the players union threw a fit, but unbeknownst to most, the protests had ran their course and would not continue for a third season.

Kaepernick lost!

I am all for the freedom of speech.

I value our 2nd Amendment rights, which were not designed for puppy dogs and daffodils, but for items not everyone approves of.

But the case is now clear. Do not protest on your employer’s time clock. Protest on your own time.

The NFL lost a lot of money and an even bigger amount of respect because of what Kaepernick started. The reverberations went far. The stands were empty and the televised ratings tanked. Merchandise suffered and the broadcasters like ESPN and ABC suffered.

Colin Kaepernick broke football and he broke the NFL, and for what? It was not even a protest, it was a 3 minute antic on his employer’s time.

He wasn’t brave enough to stand out on the street for hours and hours holding a sign or mega-phone. Kaepernick wanted the easy way out. He accomplished absolutely nothing but to make himsde

You see, it is really as simple as that. Colin Kaepernick, you took your eye off the ball…

Don’t they teach you that basic concept in Pee Wee Football the very first day?

Then a bunch of morons followed his lead. They took their teams to defeat in a big way:
