Jussie Smollett Admits He Faked The Attack, Kinda…
The Jussie Smollett legal team ‘parenthetically’ admitted his guilt in a the latest court filing concerning the lawsuit against the actor by the City of Chicago. The latest court filing contends ‘even if’ Smollett did make a false report, there is no way the city can assert he would have known the city would investigate, and investigate it to the extent cops did.
In other words, while claiming Jussie still maintains his innocence, ‘even if he really did it’, there was no way he could have known it would be such a cost to the taxpayers of the city of Chicago.
One who is truly innocent would never make such an argument, ever. This is the closest we have come to Smollett breaking away from his consistent and hard denials that he would never do such a thing.
The Chicago Sun Times reports:
“We contend the city is wrong,” [William J. Quinlan, of The Quinlan Law Firm] said of the city’s assertion that Smollett should have known the police would log nearly 2,000 hours in overtime trying to resolve the case. “ … The mere fact somebody filed a police report doesn’t presume the investigation will be done and certainly not to the extent of what the city is claiming.”
He added: “Smollett has no control over that.”
In the legal brief, obtained by Sneed, Smollett makes clear that he “disputes any and all assertions that he made a false statement and was not a victim of a crime.”
But even if he did, “The filing of a police report, in and of itself, does not necessitate a sprawling investigation nor does it, as a practical matter, usually result in an investigation as extensive as the one the CPD chose to undertake in this case,” the motion says.
It goes on to say the city “has failed to allege that Mr. Smollett was similarly ‘well aware’ that his statements to police would result in 1,836 hours of police overtime, or any other reasons why he should have known this would have been the case.”
I have stated from the beginning that Jussie Smollett has no real friends. There are few souls in this nation, at this point, who believe his denials. If he had real friends, they would be encouraging him to do the right thing, and just fess up!
The more he denies, the bigger the hole he digs for himself. Had he just come out when the story unraveled, and been honestly repentant, asked for forgiveness, and admitted he did something stupid, he would well be on his way past a lot of this mess.
America loves a great redemption story. We all understand that people make mistakes. Boy, have I made some. But you get ahead of it and admit those mistakes. You don’t dig in and continue to play the childish game that Smollett has played.
Who will ever hire him? As long as he maintains his innocence in the full face of insanity, no one.
He needs some real friends. Real friends tell you what is good for you, not what you want to hear. Obviously, he is surrounded by losers!
Now he is homeless, ‘sleeping on the couches of friends’ in NYC and LA. No income in sight. Sad case.
We will conclude with this superb clip from Dave Chappelle’s Netflix special. It is hilarious. Chappelle says most of the same stuff we’ve been saying all year, except funnier and therefore more effective.
