Perhaps former Vice President Joe Biden isn’t a terrific source to call anyone ‘brilliant’ or ‘bright’. Just sayin’. He slathered praise on Democratic Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) during a CNN interview that aired Friday, describing her as a “brilliant, bright woman.” I don’t think that word means what he thinks it means. And I certainly disagree in the extreme on his assessment of the young communist.
Of course, this was probably the same interview where he claimed that Russian interference would never have occurred on his or Barack Obama’s watch… except it did. During the interview, Biden painted himself as a moderate Democrat… supposedly the only kind that can win in 2020 against President Trump. There is not a single Democrat in the field that comes anywhere close to being able to beat Trump in the next election. That’s just the hard and brutal truth of the matter.
“That’s what this election is about. I’m happy to debate that issue and all those issues with my friends because guess what, look who won the races. Look who won last time out,” Biden said, referring to the extreme left’s victories in the midterm election. He’s right except that even moderate Democrats these days are far too leftist for most Americans.
Ocasio-Cortez beat incumbent former Rep. Joseph Crowley (D-NY) by a little more than 4,000 votes – 15,897 to Crowley’s 11,761. But ever since then, those she supports are getting bulldozed in their elections. I guess liberals’ taste for communism doesn’t go quite that deep… yet.
Biden: “I think Ocasio-Cortez is a brilliant, bright woman, but she won a primary. In the general election fights, who won? Mainstream Democrats who are very progressive on social issues, and very strong on education, health care.” https://t.co/F8L4wlRkWN pic.twitter.com/sTO5RXCj34

“However, Biden still maintained that a moderate Democrat will stand a better chance of beating President Trump in the general election.
“By the way, I think Ocasio-Cortez is a brilliant, bright woman, but she won a primary,” Biden continued. “In the general election fights, who won? Mainstream Democrats who are very progressive on social issues and very strong on education and healthcare”:
“Despite Biden’s vast attempts to present himself as a moderate, he still holds what many would consider “extreme” positions. He supports government gun confiscation and explained his position during the first debate: “Folks, look, and I would buy back [assault] weapons. We already started talking about that. We tried to get it done. I think it can be done. And it should be demanded that we do it. And that’s a good expenditure of money.”
“He also flip-flopped on the Hyde Amendment and now supports the use of federal dollars for abortion procedures.
“Folks, times have changed. I don’t think these guys are going to let up,” he said at the IWillVote Gala last month.
“Notably, Ocasio-Cortez dismissed Biden’s climate change proposal, instead calling Washington Gov. Jay Inslee’s (D) proposal the “Gold Standard.”
“Scientifically, anything that is less than helping us cut carbon emissions in half by 2030 is going to be too late,” she said, according to the Hill.
“Biden’s plan aims to eliminate fossil fuel usage by 2050.”
Biden is a union guy to the very end. “Look, my North Star is the middle class,” Biden stated. “When the middle class does well, everybody does well.” He said the Democratic Party is relatively moderate. “Look, it’s center-left, that’s where I am,” he said. “Where it’s not is way left.” He’s correct about the middle class but claiming the Democratic Party is moderate these days is like saying Jeffrey Epstein is a chaste choirboy.
Joe Biden is right about one thing – Democrats have veered too far to the left to win. Sleepy Joe is under fire from his own party over segregation, Medicare-For-All and a host of other issues. But his opponents don’t stand a chance of getting elected either. It’s like watching a bunch of Stalinist do-do birds beat each other to death and just about as entertaining – dinner and a show.
