Conservatives have found a bad egg in their midst and thankfully, he will not be running for re-election. There is no room for hypocrites in the GOP. There is no need to make excuses or defend those who are elected due to their sound, moral judgement, yet turn their back when it counts.
The abortion issue is one of the most heated and sensitive ones out there. Making progress on the pro-life issue is very difficult. Finally, this week, a ban on abortions after 20 weeks gestation was passed by the House, a huge victory.
The last thing the movement needs is a spineless, desperate, cheater, who co-sponsored the bill, pressuring his mistress to get an abortion. It’s like he is handing the left a beautifully wrapped gift, and I am pissed about that.

“An anti-abortion congressman asked his mistress to have an abortion when he thought she might be pregnant, according to a report this week.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette said it obtained text messages between Rep. Tim Murphy, R-Pa., and Shannon Edwards, the woman with whom he was having an extramarital affair.
In a Jan. 25 text message, Edwards said Murphy had “zero issue posting your pro-life stance all over the place when you had no issue asking me to abort our unborn child just last week when we thought that was one of the options,” according to the paper.
“I’ve never written them. Staff does them. I read them and winced,” Murphy’s number replied, blaming his staff for his anti-abortion messages. “I told staff don’t write any more.”
Ultimately, Edwards was not pregnant.
Murphy’s spokeswoman had no comment on the report.
The revelation came as the House on Tuesday approved Republican legislation that would make it a crime to perform an abortion after 20 weeks of fetal development. Murphy, who is a member of the House Pro-Life Caucus, was among the bill’s co-sponsors.
The bill faces an uphill battle in the Senate, where Democrats have enough votes to kill the measure.
Murphy recently acknowledged his affair with Edwards, which became public as a result of her divorce proceedings.
He is serving his eighth term representing a district in southwestern Pennsylvania.”
We don’t need people like Tim Murphy on our side. There are plenty of moral people who can take his place. People like him set our cause back immeasurably and provide the left with golden opportunities to make all conservatives look bad. Some in the GOP may turn a blind eye or make excuses for him, but I hope they don’t. I’m all for forgiveness, but this black sheep needs to be set out to pasture for good.
Unborn babies’ lives are depending on our lawmakers to gather the necessary support to move us closer to a world without abortion on demand. This is serious life and death stuff here. What a field day the pro-choicers must be having in response to Mr. Murphy’s despicable behavior. He needs to be thrown out of the House Pro-Life Caucus. They do not need to be tainted by his behavior. They should disassociate with him as fast as possible.
Maybe Mr. Murphy is regretful and repentant, but I hope he fades away into retirement without a peep. I hope Murphy and his wife can work things out and that his guilt pushes him to be a better man. However, Murphy has damaged the party and the pro-life cause and for that he deserves to be called out and rejected by the GOP immediately. Shame on you Tim Murphy. I don’t put up with liberal hypocrisy and I won’t put up with yours either.
