Home Depot Founder Blasts US Immigration Policy, “We Have Enough Screwballs”

Earlier this week a rental truck from Home Depot was involved in the recent NYC terrorist attack. Home Depot is a strong conservative business. It’s founder is and has always been a strong supporter of the Constitution and conservative policies including those on immigration.

Since the terrorist attack in NYC where a rented Home Depot service truck was used as a deadly weapon, the co-founder of the home improvement giant has some harsh words for liberals.

Ken Langone, Co-founder of Home Depot, appeared on Fox News shortly after the Oct. 31 terrorist attack, and strongly expressed his view that America’s broken immigration policy was a major factor in the carnage.

“Nothing proves to me more than this experience that we need to know who’s here with us,” the billionaire businessman explained.

“How the hell can we just say, ‘Come on in and we don’t care how you got in here and we don’t care where you’re from or what you did or what your background was’?” he continued.

The logos of Home Depot, the famous company that Langone helped start, were plastered on the sides of a heavy-duty pickup truck used to drive into a crowd and then a school bus on Tuesday. Eight people were killed, while at least fifteen were injured.

Authorities have arrested a Muslim immigrant from Uzbekistan named Sayfullo Saipov. That man entered the U.S. on a “diversity visa,” and officials have acknowledged that he has connections to the so-called “Islamic State” terrorist group.

Referencing the fact that Saipov was allowed into the United States despite clearly being a radical, the Home Depot co-founder made it clear that the entry system was broken.

“I’m not arguing pro or against immigration. My grandparents came here as immigrants. I think virtually everybody’s ancestors came here as immigrants,” Langone said.

We’re a country of immigrants – but, they all came legitimately and we all knew where they came from and what they wanted to do,” he summarized.

The businessman took a few jabs at the “open borders” crowd.

“This underscores the need for us to be diligent and have a program and have an effort where people have to let us know who they are and that they came in here legitimately. Why have borders, otherwise? I don’t understand this,” he explained.

Playing devil’s advocate, the Fox panel pointed out that there might be no way to stop “homegrown” terrorists who become radicalized within our own borders, even though that does not seem to be the case with Saipov.

Look… there’s nuts in the world,” Ken Langone admitted. “You know, we have mass murders, remember [Ted Kaczynski], the guy that was the Unabomber – we have enough screwballs in America without importing them,” he explained.

Langone’s proposal came down to basic logic.

“We ought to know who’s coming to America, we ought to know something about their background, like we do with all legitimate immigrants. And, this argument that we should look the other way with illegitimate immigrants is nuts,” he declared.

Just like in your own private home, you wouldn’t allow every crazy lunatic or stranger into your home without understanding first, where they were coming from and second, what they wanted. The same goes for immigrants entering into America. If immigrants want to come into America they should do it LEGALLY – through the front door!

In this case, this douche bag did. He came through the Diversity Visa program. If this program allowed a terrorist and his colleagues into America to kil innocent bystanders, then the system is broken and it needs to be fixed.

At least 24,000 people have entered the country from Uzbekistan since 2005, according to the records.
