Gun Control Not Stopping Murders in London: Mayor Wants Knife Control
It’s nearly impossible to get a gun in London. With a climbing murder rate, the Mayor of London is blaming the deaths on the lack of background checks on steak knife owners.
London has been continuously inhabited for the last 1400 years, and the first time they vote for a Muslim mayor — that’s Sadiq Khan — they get a ‘social democrat’ who coins wonderful phrases like that you must accept terrorism as “part and parcel” of living in a city. Now, Sadiq has brought on hundreds of new city police and is encouraging them to be more confident in their stop and frisk activities in the city of London to make sure that nobody is carrying a knife on them.
Sadiq Khan runs his city as a “beacon of tolerance,” yet bans Donald Trump from visiting. So what’s going on in Londistan, a country known as much for their Trucks of Peace as for Big Ben?
London Murders Up…
Taken on a monthly basis, jolly old London England has overtaken New York City in terms of homicides. Both cities have approximately the same population (about eight and a half million people) and while New Yorkers are enjoying the lowest homicide rate since the 1950s, residents of London are at a higher and higher risk of being stabbed to death.
…And Terrorism Continues…
Early last summer, Trump took to Twitter to talk about a terrorist attack in London that was committed without guns. Trump correctly pointed out that there is no “gun debate” to be had on the matter “because they used knives and a truck.”
Both Trump and Sadiq Khan fought on the social media site after Trump wrote “At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed.'”
Being a man of too many words, Khan issued a statement:
“There is no reason to be alarmed by this. We are the safest global city in the world. You saw last night as a consequence of our planning, our preparation, the rehearsals that take place, the swift response from the emergency services tackling the terrorists and also helping the injured.”
“The safest global city in the world,” huh? Not anymore.
…So Muslim Mayor Hires 300 New Cops To Frisk For Knives
As a part of Khan’s initiative to rid London of crime (or, as I see it, his initiative to leave Londoners defenseless), he is encouraging the 300 new cops he put on the street this weekend to double down on digging through pockets and purses looking for unlicensed knives. Right now the law states that you must have a “good reason” to be carrying a knife unless the blade is under 3″ in length. If you’ve ever mindlessly picked up a new bread knife because they were on sale at Walmart, then you might have to provide a better reason for carrying it home with you than “it was cheap.”
Soon: New Anti-Knife Laws
Along with encouraging the street level police to get handsier with residents, Khan is planning on tightening the already ridiculous legislation on knife ownership. For example, it’s already illegal for someone under the age of 18 to purchase a knife. The next frontier that Khan wants to explore is restricting the ability of residents to purchase a knife online and have it delivered to their home. After all, someone could start an unregistered knife collection — so it’s possible that soon, London residents who want to pick up a cheap set of steak knives from eBay will have to first send the package to a government facility for inspection before presenting identification and taking their package home.
If only there was a better way to prevent crime before it happened, instead of policing the paring knives of dedicated cooks.
Did you know that the “London Bridge” terrorist who killed seven people, including an America had appeared on a British documentary the year beforehand on British jihadis? Maybe the cops should’ve frisked him instead.
‘Operation Sceptre’ Weapons Sweeps Began Last Year
Last January, London’s Metropolitan Police started conducting thousands of “weapon sweeps.” During one such bout of sweeps, police confirmed that Operation Sceptre, which was billed as a response to “habitual knife carriers” had ended. Over 5,791 sweeps, they found 1,435 weapons and arrested 2,294 people.
Those numbers don’t quite make sense. They’re only finding weapons on every one-in-five people, but they’re arresting two-in-five people? Is someone putting stupid juice in the tea over there?
