Full Panic Mode: Nancy Pelosi Holds ‘Emergency Conference Call’ Over Mueller Report

Since the Mueller Report was turned over to Attorney General Barr, the Democrats have devolved into full panic mode. You’ve got media hacks trying to save face by saying Trump was vindicated. You’ve got celebrities swooning over Mueller and cursing him out. You’ve got Democrats in tears and meltdowns galore. It’s been a sight to see. You even have those such as Joy Reid wondering if Mueller’s part of some sort of elaborate cover-up. That’s classic desperation.

Pelosi called an “emergency Caucus conference call” to discuss the Mueller report. The 3 p.m. call was led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) and members of the committees with jurisdiction over the issue, according to several Democratic aides.

Democrats on the 35-minute call also heard from six committee heads, all of whom have some oversight role related to the Mueller investigation. They included Reps. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), of the Judiciary Committee; Elijah Cummings (D-MD), of Oversight and Reform; Adam Schiff (D-CA), of the Intelligence panel; Eliot Engel (D-NY), of Foreign Affairs; Maxine Waters (D-CA), of the Finance Committee; and Richard Neal (D-MA), the chairman of Ways and Means.

Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), the chairman of the House Democratic Caucus made the case for full public disclosure: America’s taxpayers, he noted, funded Mueller’s investigation and therefore deserve to see the findings in their entirety. Boy, how the left’s tune has changed since the report did not go their way.

Pelosi told approximately 120 members of the Democratic Caucus on the call that she will rebuff any efforts by the Justice Department to reveal details of special counsel Robert Mueller’s findings in a highly classified setting. It’s a tactic she warned could be employed to shield the report’s conclusions from the public. Talk about grasping at political straws.

“The takeaway from this call is that the American [people] deserve the truth,” she said, according to a person on the call. “Transparency is the order of the day.” That’s rich coming from Pelosi.

From Politico:

“Three sources who participated in a conference call among House Democrats said Pelosi (D-Calif.) told lawmakers she worried the Justice Department would seek to disclose Mueller’s conclusions to the so-called Gang of Eight — the top Democrats and Republicans in the House and Senate — which handles the nation’s most sensitive secrets. The substance of Gang of Eight briefings are heavily guarded.

“Everyone pounded the transparency drum continuously,” said a source who was on the Saturday afternoon call.

“Pelosi said it was her belief that the findings of the report should be unclassified, a consistent theme from Democrats who said they wanted Attorney General William Barr to share virtually every scrap of paper connected to the Mueller report with Congress.

“Democrats repeatedly compared their demands for transparency to Republican efforts to obtain intricate details of the FBI’s handling of the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s private email server. GOP lawmakers succeeded in obtaining thousands of FBI officials’ text messages connected to the Clinton probe, as well as agent notes, internal emails and thousands of files.

“Internal Justice Department guidelines state that a sitting president cannot be indicted, and senior DOJ officials, including Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, have indicated that the department would not disclose damaging information about individuals who are not indicted. But Democrats have argued that Congress is entitled to such information as part of its own sweeping investigations into obstruction of justice and abuse of power on the part of President Donald Trump.

“During the conference call, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) both cited the Clinton precedent as evidence to support their calls for complete transparency.

“Things kind of unfolded very, very quickly yesterday. The primary reason for the call was just to rally the troops,” Rep. Val Demings (D-Fla.), a member of the Judiciary and Intelligence committees, said in an interview Saturday. “While the special counsel’s work appears to be done, our work is not.”’

In a “Dear Colleague” letter sent to Democrats just before Saturday’s call, Pelosi warned that Barr’s offer “to provide the Committees with a summary of the report’s conclusions is insufficient.”

“Congress requires the full report and the underlying documents so that the Committees can proceed with their independent work, including oversight and legislating to address any issues the Mueller report may raise,” Pelosi wrote.

Everyone is still waiting for a high-level summary of Mueller’s findings from the Justice Department. At first, it was believed it would be released this weekend. Now, it seems it will be next week and the Democrats are frustrated beyond words. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY), who is likely to get the first indication from Barr when a summary is being delivered, said he would notify colleagues immediately. You bet he will. Nadler is a communist and truly despises President Trump so he’s hoping for the worst. He’s about to be very disappointed.

Since the Dems had no real facts to go on other than there would be no indictments (that alone sent them into a tailspin), they chirped among themselves on a conference call and tried to console each other. They are calling for a full release of the report to the public and to Congress. I have no idea if that will happen but if it doesn’t, the Dems are sure to implode over it. Conspiracies theories will run amok.

During an earlier conference call with Judiciary Committee Democrats, Nadler said the committee would ask the Justice Department to preserve all documents from the special counsel’s investigation.

The Dems want to keep the witch hunt going and they are panicking that there is nothing on Trump they can latch onto. This is where the left’s hysteria and hatred for Trump have led them. Just pitiful.
