Fox News host Chris Wallace said on Fox News Sunday that he was told by a well-known GOP source that there is a 1-in-5 chance President Trump will be removed from office if the Senate holds an impeachment trial. So, who would that be? Kasich, who sadly says he is now for impeachment? Remember his animosity towards Trump? Or, how about Mitt Romney who is sniffing around procedurally to take Trump down. No sour grapes or Deep State there at all. Nothing to see here.
Chris Wallace isn’t exactly a fan of President Trump’s either by the way. Wallace told acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney that the Republican, who he said Mulvaney knows well, believes there is now a 20 percent chance Trump is removed from office. That’s is poppycock. Trump enjoys tremendous popularity among the American people and if the Republicans side with the left on this, there will by you-know-what to pay. Torches and pitchforks come to mind.
“I talked to a very well-connected Republican in Washington this week, somebody whose name you would know well, who says that if the House votes to impeach and it gets to a trial in the Senate, there is now a 20 percent chance he believes — obviously, it’s just an estimate — now a 20 percent chance enough Republicans will vote with the Democrats to remove the president,” Wallace said.
“Oh, that’s just absurd,” Mulvaney responded. “This comment about a 20 percent chance, the person clearly doesn’t know what they’re talking about.” I would agree with that sentiment wholeheartedly. This is sheer conjecture and an outright known falsehood.

“However, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said last week that he would hold a trial against Trump if the Democrat-controlled house votes to impeach the president.
“We intend to do our constitutional responsibility,” McConnell said.
“With the current pace of politics, Politico reported last week that such a trial could come by the end of the year. Indeed, many political strategists believe a vote by the House to impeach the president could be just weeks away.
“While it is unlikely the Republican-controlled Senate would vote to remove Trump from office, there is chatter that Republicans, at least in private, are voicing opposition to Trump and keeping the door open to voting against him if the matter is brought to the Senate.
“Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) is one such senator, who, according to The Atlantic, has spent time in recent months reviewing “The Federalist Papers” and brushing up on parliamentary procedure.”
If this is true, why doesn’t Wallace produce the source? Why hide? Why should we believe someone who is too cowardly to come out and make his statements publically on impeachment? For that matter, why would Wallace believe him or her? Fair and balances, y’all… not.
Wallace cited an overwhelming House vote criticizing the president’s policies in Syria and an op-ed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) slamming Trump’s decision to withdraw troops from that country.
A number of media polls have indicated support for impeachment has grown since Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced an inquiry last month, with multiple polls over the past two weeks showing that a majority of respondents supported the impeachment of Trump. These polls are highly suspect and Pelosi refuses to vote on impeachment… instead she is holding meetings and testimony in secret and denying the president due process. That’s simply fascist and an attempt at a political coup. And I don’t believe any of these polls either — just like the last election.
It’s still considered highly unlikely that many Republicans would back Trump’s impeachment because the fact is, they won’t.
A two-thirds “super majority” of senators present is required to remove the president, should the House approve articles of impeachment by majority vote. Which they have not voted on and a “super Majority” of senators would never vote for. Democrats who control the House are conducting an impeachment inquiry, spurred by Trump pressuring Ukraine to investigate political rival Joe Biden. Trump has done nothing wrong here… the same cannot be said of Joe Biden.
If the Republicans want an uprising this would do the trick nicely. Wallace is stirring the pot here and it is dangerous. Put up or shut up and show us your source. And the Republicans should remember who put them in office… it wasn’t the left.
