Female Wannabe Ghostbuster Furious Over Unveiling of New Ghostbusters Reboot

One of my all-time favorite movies is Ghostbusters. I still watch it… it’s an epic classic. When Leslie Jones and three other women rebooted it in 2016, I swore I would never watch it. It has garnered horrific reviews, so I am fairly certain that was a good call. Sony is getting ready to do another sequel/reboot of Ghostbusters… this time with actors who are actually funny one would hope. Maybe they can even loop in Dan Akroyd and Bill Murray.

Saturday Night Live’s Leslie Jones, who starred in the female failure of the reboot, is ticked over this. In fact, she blew a gasket over it:

“In response to the news that Jason Reitman’s new Ghostbusters project will continue the story that began with Ivan Reitman’s 1984 original and its 1989 sequel, and ignore the female reboot from director Paul Feig in 2016, Leslie Jones, a cast member from the latter, has voiced her disappointment on social media.

“The comedian took to Twitter on Saturday in a post that said, “So insulting. Like f*ck us. We dint count. It’s like something trump would do. (Trump voice) ”Gonna redo ghostbusteeeeers, better with men, will be huge. Those women ain’t ghostbusteeeeers” ugh so annoying. Such a dick move. And I don’t give f*ck I’m saying something!!”’

I fail to see what Trump has to do with any of this. The feminist reboot was not funny and it sucked. Sorry, Jones needs to own it.

I really hope this time they leave politics out of it and go after demons and ghosts. Just sayin’. Ghostbusters 3 will ignore the all-female 2016 reboot and pick up where the 1989 Ghostbusters 2 left off.

Jones is saying there will only be men in the new flick, that’s not true. Evidently, Sony has opted for two young men and two young women. Details. I don’t know who else will be included. I guess that will be announced later.

The female Ghostbusters didn’t just flop… it never made it that far. It cost $150 million to produce and the promotion budget was around $100 million. They lost $70 million and maybe much more than that. It was just that bad. Not only that, it took one of the greatest brands of all time and trashed it with social justice, identity politics, and diversity run amok. The movie itself opened with an anti-Trump joke and portrayed all its male characters as either evil or stupid.

Sony has opted to pretend that version never happened. You can’t blame them but to recoup their brand this next one will have to be something else.

Leslie Jones doesn’t care about all that. She is making this about her which it isn’t. This isn’t WokeBusters. As Nick Nolte brilliantly put it at Breitbart:

“I’m sorry, but despite social media and the news media trying to gaslight us into believing the opposite is true, there just aren’t Social Justice Wokesters out there to make a mainstream film profitable.

“Sure, if you narrow-cast on a budget, or if you have gamed the system to where you can pretend Jimmy Kimmel’s audience of less than two million equals a hit, that can be made to work.

“But in the real world, the world where you have to appeal to a mass audience, we hate this preachy garbage.

“My guess, though, is that Sony will bend to the pressure and either cancel this upcoming sequel or mark it with a hat tip to the all-female crybaby cast.

“Unfortunately, this era of Woke McCarthyism is something we are going to have to live with for a while.”

I hope he’s wrong but I fear he’s right. Who ya gonna call?
