In possibly one of the cutest and most accurate impersonations ever, Democratic Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has a mini-me that perfectly portrays her personality, mental acuity, and views to a tee. The video has gone viral and has social media in stitches with mini-me’s ‘on the nose’ impression of Ocasio-Cortez.
Little Ava Martinez, from Rancho Santa Margarita, California, has taken social media by storm this week after her stepdad Salvatore Schachter uploaded a video of her adorable imitation to Twitter. “Like, I want to talk about, like, climate change. Because, like, there’s no doubt cow farts are making the climate change,” Ava exclaims in front of the camera. Her mannerisms are just like AOC’s. It’s mesmerizing. Lol.
Ava poked fun at the freshman congresswoman’s Green New Deal legislation that calls for a massive overhaul of the nation’s economy and energy use — estimated to cost tens of trillions of dollars.
“Like, in July, the climate was 96 degrees and in February the climate was 36 degrees. OMG, like that’s a huge change in the climate in only,” —pausing to count her fingers — “four months!” She has Ocasio-Cortez’s math skills down pat here. The video has been viewed more than 400,000 times and it is easy to see why. It’s hilarious.
“At this rate, the world is going to end in exactly 12 years and, like, I’m only 29 years old now,” the girl in the video says. She then counts on her fingers for a few moments to figure out how old she will be when the world actually ends.
“I’ll only be … 37 years old!” Ava exclaims.
Schachter says he’s been inundated with messages from viewers insisting Ava is the spitting image of the 29-year-old congressional freshman in the amusing skit. She certainly is… right down to the glasses and red lipstick. “Her timing and delivery were spot on. Pure gold,” wrote one viewer. “You can close your eyes and swear you are listening to the actual person,” another added.

Schachter said he’d previously noticed a likeness between Ava and the New York representative, but after family members started referring to her as ‘Little AOC’, he asked if she wanted to record a video. “I thought it would gain attention because she’s adorable, but not like this,” the proud step-father told the New York Post. “She loves acting; she’s just a natural performer,” he added.
From The Daily Mail:
“Her stepdad admits she wasn’t aware of who AOC was before making the video, but that didn’t stop Ava poking fun at some of the politician’s key policies.
“‘I also want to talk about socialism because socialism is so amazing,’ the eight-year-old gushes. ‘Like, socialism is actually short for social media. I do social media, so I’m a socialist.’
“‘Three of the most successful countries in the world are socialists too: Venezula, Facebook and Twitter.
“‘I have a lot of friends who moved to America from Facebook,’ she adds.
“Following the success of ‘Little AOC’s’ debut, Schachter says Ava’s considering making the impression a recurring role.
“‘She’s adorable!!’ Wrote one Twitter user, ‘This needs to be a recurring thing. Give her an AOC parody account immediately.’
“Ocasio-Cortez has yet to react to here doppelganger’s performance.”
This sweet, adorable, 8yo actress is not only much cuter than the real #AlexandriaOcasioCortez but she’s also already much smarter too. I asked her to do this video because when #AOC is talking this is what we’re all thinking. We’re better off with this sweetheart in Congress. pic.twitter.com/QybovhN8WZ

I wouldn’t look for a reply from Ocasio-Cortez anytime soon. Just sayin’. She’s touchy about being made fun of. Social media users praised the impression as “pure gold,” with some suggesting Martinez would make a “much better Congresswoman.” I have no doubt whatsoever that is true.
Martinez closes out her impression with her thoughts on socialism, saying, “Like, I also want to talk about socialism because socialism is so amazing! Like, socialism is actually short for social media. Did you know that?” she says. “Like, I use social media so I’m a socialist — and like three of the most successful countries in the world are socialist too. Venezuela, Facebook, and Twitter are all very successful socialist countries.” That’s my favorite part… soooo good.
