Willie Robertson Defends Religious Liberty of Fired Coach

On a recent edition of the Fox Business show “Mornings with Maria,” “Duck Dynasty” star Willie Robertson defended Joe Kennedy. Kennedy is the Bremerton, Washington assistant high school football coach who has been asked by district authorities to stop praying on the field after games.

When asked about the subject, Robertson replied:

What is this country coming to where the coach out in Washington can’t say a prayer [and] is going to get fired.

I’m kind of with the Founding Fathers of the country, who were strong believers that this whole country was founded on our Christian faith. They didn’t shy away from it, I won’t shy away from it. If you get fired you get fired. Some things are worth losing your job over.

I say to Willie Robertson – AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! When Christians are targeted from cupcake makers, coaches, wedding planners, to bakers, and many others – that should give you a “head’s up” something is WRONG with our country. Wake up people! This country was founded on Judeo-Christian beliefs. Stop the insanity! We will NOT stand by and let political correctness and this administration destroy our Constitution and Freedom of Religion.

By the way, for those of you who haven’t followed the story, Coach Kennedy was placed on “administrative leave” for his Christian beliefs. Coach Kennedy had been “under investigation” after someone complained of his prayers at the 50 yard line, which took place at the end of the football games. The superintendent of the school district told Coach Kennedy he violated the directives by engaging in “overt, public and demonstrative religious conduct”.

How crazy is that! Since when did praying become “demonstrative religious conduct”? Wake Up People! This is absurd! Coach Kennedy is a devout Christian and served our country for 20 years in the Marine Corps. He initially started praying on his own and later team members joined him – on their own, after the games.  No one forced the players to join Coach Kennedy at the 50 yard line. They did it on their own, because they were religious and wanted to give thanks too. Is the superintendent going to suspend players for praying on their own after the game too?

Thank goodness for the Liberty Institute who will be defending Joe Kennedy and his acts of Religious Freedom.

The Liberty Institute was also on Sen. Ted Cruz’s side when he fought to preserve the Mojave Desert Memorial Cross and won. Cruz also defended the monument of the Ten Commandments on state grounds. Here’s what Ted Cruz said earlier this year at his Rally for Religious Freedom in Iowa:

“We’re just one justice away,” Cruz warned, from losing our religious liberties.

“Never have the threats been greater to religious liberty than they are right here and now today,” Cruz added, noting that “these threats are not imagined, they’re not made up.”

“There is a war on faith in America today,” Cruz asserted, which is why who we elect as President in 2016 matters.

Guess what people? Our rights come from God, not the government! There IS a war on faith in America today and our Founding Fathers must be rolling over in their graves.

God Bless Willie Robertson, Coach Kennedy, Sen. Ted Cruz and God Bless America!
