Democrat Civil War: Tensions Growing Between The Squad And … Maxine Waters?
The Civil War between the Moderate and Socialist wings of the Democrat party are growing and Politico is reporting that the latest “target of these progressive freshmen”, AKA, the Squad, is none other than “liberal icon Maxine Waters, chair of the House Financial Services Committee.”
It seems that they are not happy with the ‘business friendly’ leanings of the House Financial Services committee, and thus, Maxine Waters.
This is rather ironic as it was Aunt Maxine who was caught once declaring that she wanted to socialize the oil industry. (“And guess what this liberal will be all about. This liberal will be all about socializ… uh, uh … would be about [long pause] basically taking over, and the government running all of your companies.”)
But, never the less, the Squad and other progressives are not happy with what they perceive as a moderate stance against businesses in the United States.

California Democrat Katie Porter fought with her over committee procedures. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other members of the Squad of progressive female lawmakers withheld their support from her over the Export-Import Bank. Their staffs have pressed her team to give them more time to weigh in on bills.
The target of these progressive freshmen: not some conservative Republican. It’s liberal icon Maxine Waters, chair of the House Financial Services Committee, who is facing growing dissatisfaction — and at times outright rebellion — from high-profile, left-leaning lawmakers who joined the panel earlier this year.
Some progressives have openly lamented the committee’s leanings toward more moderate, business-friendly Democrats who dominate its ranks — a dynamic largely outside of Waters’ control. Ocasio-Cortez vented at a Nov. 19 hearing on private equity that she was “quite upset” with softball questions that members on both sides of the aisle were tossing at representatives of leveraged buyout firms tied to mass layoffs at companies like Toys “R” Us.
Ocasio-Cortez told Politico that there has been a prioritization of “conservative seat needs” to protect members from swing states.
Waters and Katie Porter have bumped heads a number of times, as Waters has kept the freshman from using clever props when questioning witnesses at hearings. She has had to warn Porter more than once that she’s violating committee rules.
“We’ve talked about this before,” Waters told Porter after asking her to put down a “Financial Services Bingo” board at a debt collection hearing in September.
Porter shot back: “Are we adding additional committee rules at this time?”
We have been reporting on this inevitable civil war since these new socialists were elected. Almost immediately, they took center stage, and have tied the Democrat party to the far left socialism that for years it had tried to distance itself from. The ramifications, as seen by moderate old school Democrats, are huge. It could be enough to sink the whole ship.
In fact, murmurings have been that there is a concerted effort to make sure these troublemakers get the boot, one way or another, next November. The far left, however, has grandiose ideas of electing more just like them.
These socialists may play well in San Francisco and NYC, but they are not popular at all anywhere in-between. When Maxine Waters is accused of being too conservative, you know these folks are WAY out there in far left field.
