In an appearance at a fundraiser for C.A.I.R., Democrat freshman congresswoman Democrat Ilhan Omar minimized the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.” Congressman (And Texan) Dan Crenshaw did not take too kindly to the disrespect. The former United States Navy SEAL who lost an eye while fighting in Afghanistan let Omar have it!

“First Member of Congress to ever describe terrorists who killed thousands of Americans on 9/11 as ‘some people who did something,’” Crenshaw, of Texas, wrote in a tweet. “Unbelievable.”

Crenshaw was responding a speech Omar made last month at a fundraiser for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Omar was urging Muslim Americans to “make people uncomfortable” with their activism and brought up the al Qaeda attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people.

“CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something, and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties,” said Omar, one of two Muslim women serving in Congress.

The liberal response to Crenshaw’s tweet was to be expected, and this one took the cake.

Get used to it Dan, I’m a teacher and i [sic] teach all my kids that 9/11 was no big deal, and that US soldiers are evil, and and i make them praise allah, and i give good grades to the kids who do it and give the kids who like cops or soldiers detention.

Others besides Crenshaw denounced Omar’s comments.

“Ilhan Omar isn’t just anti-Semitic — she’s anti-American. Nearly 3,000 Americans lost their lives to Islamic terrorists on 9/11, yet Omar diminishes it as: ‘Some people did something.’ Democrat leaders need to condemn her brazen display of disrespect,” wrote Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel on Twitter.

The New York Post came out with a cover for Thursday calling out Omar for her trivialization of  the terrorist attacks.

My FDNY son’s death on 9/11 was more than just ‘something’

“Those people died a horrible death..We were there for 9 months picking up body parts, pieces..We found my son’s body 6 months later..He was at the North Tower. We got to bury him.”

Omar became the first Somali-American elected to Congress last November, and she has had a series of anti-semetic gaffs as well.

She appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on Wednesday where her 9/11 comments were not addressed. TBut Omar told the host she was still “learning” after she was accused of making an anti-Semitic remark in February.

“The whole process really has been one of growth for me, right,” she said. “I’m learning that everything is not as simple as we might think. As I’ve said to my constituents and my colleagues, when you tell me that you are pained by something I say, I will always listen and I will acknowledge your pain.”
