CNN In A Major PANIC As Ratings Fall Below Reruns of “My 600lb Life” On TLC
CNN has been in a ratings free-fall ever since the release of the Mueller Report revealed that they had tried to sell the American people a bill of goods. One month ago, the network had fallen to 15th place, behind the Food Network. This month, they are having a hard time competing with reruns of TLS’s “My 600lb Life.”
As TownHall reported, CNN recently had Beto O’Rourke on for a town hall. It was a catastrophe, but not unexpected.
As they treated Beto as the newly anointed Prince of the Americas, no one was watching.
Presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke is not only starting to appear toward the bottom in the polls, but his Tuesday televised town hall with CNN now holds the distinction of being one of the lowest in ratings for the network.
O’Rourke’s CNN town hall averaged 714,000 total viewers and 194,000 in the 25-54 demo, which means it came in third for both categories during 10-11:15 p.m. EST, according to early Nielsen Media Research.
It’s hard to describe how awful getting only 194,000 in the key demo is. Reruns of “My 600lb Life” on TLC compete for more share of the market than that. The Food Network routinely beats that number in head to head comparisons. It’s objectively awful.
But CNN’s issues aren’t relegated to just Beto O’Rourke town halls. They are currently in the midst of a major ratings collapse that’s affecting all their programming. In fact, they’ve now hit lows in the key demo that they haven’t seen since 2015.
In the ratings race, on average FoxNews has 4 times the number of viewers as CNN. OUCH! Fox has been ahead in this race for two decades, but not that bad.
Reports are that the big wigs at CNN are in a dire panic. Just two weeks ago, the network announced that it had to fire over 100 serious employees. We are not talking about janitors. These are not just low level positions. These are seasoned important employees.
Nighttime viewers at CNN have dropped 35% from this time last year to an average 783,000 prime time viewers.
RedState said it loud and clear:
Viewers are not buying what they are selling. The constant conspiracy mongering, racial politics, and deranged ranting about Trump has grown old.
Latest polls claim that confidence in the media has hit rock bottom. Many news consumers believe that reporters file their reports before knowing the facts. 60 percent assume that sources pay for stories.
The media has done a pretty good job of undermining the trust of the American People for decades.
They built that all on their own. It is not just a definitive leftward slant, they actually put items out that are totally false! Not long ago we were discussing Buzzfeed fake stories about Trump and the MSM fail at the Covington boys.
But I all to well remember in the 80s:
Reagan would give a speech. Sam Donaldson would repeat, falsely, what he wanted Reagan to have said. The he would argue against what he said Reagan said. I had just watched the speech.
Reagan did not say what Sam Donaldson said he had said, so his argument was a red herring.
Sad case for one of the pivotal institutions in America, the Press!
Will CNN resuscitate? Only time will tell.
