The California State Senate agrees with Charlie Rangel that they “deserve” to own guns but the citizens do not! Every year they pass more and more gun control laws and NONE of them apply to themselves!
Afterall, what’s good for the goose ISN’T what’s good for the gander?
They voted 28-8 to exempt themselves from the gun-control laws that apply to the rest of the California.
That’s right! They believe gun control laws are good for citizens, just not THEM!
H/T I Have The Truth:
They do not pay red light camera bills or for gasoline!
How does it all happen so easily in California? The Washington Post explains:
Attempts by a handful of reformers to require politicians to provide a full annual disclosure of the benefits received from the public treasury have been rebuffed. Currently, government officials must file a statement of economic interests revealing income from any source other than a local, state or federal government agency. Gifts worth more than $50 also must be disclosed, but lawmakers rejected a bill that would have prohibited acceptance of concert and sporting event tickets, gift cards, spa treatments, golf outings and other benefits from lobbyists trying to buy votes.
Bills of this nature never meet an honest fate in which roll-call votes put members on the record as favoring or opposing each idea. Instead, reform measures are held in committee to die quietly as legislative deadlines pass. As of last week, it’s effectively impossible for a bill to become law if it hasn’t already passed in at least one of the chambers.
California has it backwards, they are running with the method of “from the leaders to the people.”
Five million people have fled California within the last decade, and the number is growing. Governor Brown is delusional. Brown launched into his worst anti-Trump tirade of late, in his speech “California is Not Turning Back, Not Now, Not Ever.”
This past year, Brown signed new gun control legislation for California, enacting bills that limit magazine capacity to 10 bullets; require a background check for those purchasing ammunition; and restrict the lending of firearms, among other effects.
Brown said he wants “to enhance public safety by tightening our existing laws in a responsible and focused manner, while protecting the rights of law-abiding gun owners.”
Sure you do! ….and there’s some nice property in Florida I want to sell you too! #DrainTheSwamp
Gun control is NOT the issue. The bad guys are still going to get guns, no matter how many laws you pass. The problem is not about guns!
As Ronald Reagan said:
The only thing that is clear about California is that tax payers will be on the hook moving forward for potentially tens of millions of dollars annually, related to new court processes, law enforcement and regulatory costs associated with the gun control measures signed into law by Jerry “Moonbat” Brown. Gov. Brown exploited a terrorist attack involving illegal immigrants. Looks like Gov. Brown is willing to protect thousands of illegals, even radical Islamic terrorists in his own “sanctuary state”, but not law-abiding, gun owners or legal citizens of California.
