Are We In The Midst Of The Biblical Ten Plagues Reappearing Today?

All Christians are familiar with the ten plagues visited upon Egypt by God for not following his mandates. Some are now claiming that four of the plagues have been revisited on mankind since the end of last year and wonder if the other six are on their way. That would signal the End of Days to some… the final redemption.

The first plague to strike was water turning to blood. I can understand how this is very alarming to humans but there are a number of explanations including algae that do this to water. You can’t rule out the divine hand of God here but it is far more likely something else. The water turns red and not to actual blood. Nevertheless, the sight of red water brings to mind the Exodus and End Times prophecy. Earlier this month, several cases of rivers turning blood-red were reported in different spots around the world.

The next plague claimed is the seventh in the Bible: hail. At the end of last year, hail rained down on some very odd locations. Saudi Arabia was hit by baseball-sized ice balls, covering the sandy deserts. Another short and severe hailstorm hit Swaziland, South Africa and killed a herd of cows. But perhaps most alarming of all was the Biblical mixture of fire and ice that struck in Australia as ice storms were accompanied by lightning that set off bushfires.

I can see how that would be odd and alarming. Again though, it can either be chalked up to strange weather or a message from God.

Then we have the eighth plague… locusts. In Saudi Arabia again, they are suffering from a massive infestation of bugs, most notably locusts. According to others, that plague arrived just in time for the Torah reading that described their role in the Exodus of the Jews from Egypt. Hordes of locusts and grasshoppers periodically plague all countries on the planet. It’s cyclical, however, there are images of the floor of the Great Mosque in Mecca covered in dead locusts which feels almost Biblical.

Then we come to the ninth plague… darkness. This has to do with a total solar eclipse which is not much in the way of total darkness and doesn’t last for long. The total solar eclipse that spread across the continental U.S. in August 2017 ushered in one of the most catastrophic hurricane seasons in our history. We won’t see another total solar eclipse until April 2024 but on January 21st, a lunar eclipse called the Super Blood Wolf Moon did take place.

In the article I read, they conjectured that the worst plague of all might be reoccurring… the death of the firstborn. This is definitely a reach. “At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of the livestock.” (Exodus 12:29)

This has to do with the Messianic implications of do-it-yourself DNA testing. The article stated that 20-30 percent of paternity tests reveal that the man doing the test is not the father of the child they are testing.

From Breaking Israel News:

“Rabbi Berger saw this an aspect of the redemption that was witnessed in the Exodus from Egypt. He noted that this technology-aided revelation of widespread infidelity closely resembles what was seen in Egypt just prior to the Exodus of the Hebrews. He noted that according to Jewish tradition, all of the plagues of Egypt would be revisited before the Messiah.

“During the Plague of the Death of the Firstborn, there were households with one father and one mother in which several, or all of the children would die,” Rabbi Berger explained. “That was because they were all firstborn… to different fathers.”’

I think that premise is a stretch at best but who knows? Only God knows the time of the End of Days and humans can fret over signs in the heavens and earth all they want. That is not for them to know until the very end. Most of this can be explained rationally and I will not pretend to know the mind of God. Some of them do make you wonder though.
