In case you haven’t heard, this last week after supporting the Hyde Amendment against taxpayer-funded abortions… Joe Biden epically flip-flopped and is now against it. Word has it that actress and radical abortion activist Alyssa Milano was instrumental in getting Biden to do an about-face on the issue.
All it took was one phone call from the ‘Charmed’ star to Biden’s campaign manager Greg Schultz to get Biden to roll over. CNN is saying that Milano even spoke with the former vice president directly. Immediately after the conversation, he reversed his position after several 2020 Democrats began to unilaterally blast his support for the Hyde Amendment. Talk about peer pressure from hell.
“We now see so many Republican governors denying healthcare for millions of the most poorest [sic] and most vulnerable Americans by refusing even Medicaid expansion, I can’t justify leaving millions of women out of access to care they need and the ability to exercise their constitutionally protected right,” Biden told a crowd of supporters. “If I believe healthcare is a right, as I do, I can no longer support an amendment that makes that right dependent on someone’s ZIP code.”
“Symone Sanders, one of Biden’s senior advisers, confronted him, she confirmed to me Thursday night, telling Biden that he was missing how his position disproportionately affected poorer women and women of color without easy access to abortion,” reads a story from The Atlantic. Then Milano sirened Biden and bewitched the befuddled politician into supporting infanticide. Doing Hollywood proud.
Milano proceeded to do a victory lap and thank Biden for “listening to the American people,” even though the Hyde Amendment enjoys broad support among the American people. “@JoeBiden just came out saying, after listening to women in the last 24 hrs, he WILL repeal the Hyde Amendment. I repeat, Joe Biden just came out against the Hyde Amendment. Thanks, Joe. For listening to the American people. And thank you to the women who raised their voices,” said Milano on Twitter.
The Hyde Amendment was first passed more than 40 years ago in response to the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade ruling, which established a woman’s right to abortion. It’s been reauthorized in annual government spending bills ever since, barring Medicaid, Medicare and other federal health programs from paying for abortions.
Pressure from both inside and outside Joe Biden's campaign, including an appeal from Alyssa Milano, led Biden to conclude he had to reconsider his position on the Hyde Amendment, according to campaign officials with direct knowledge of the discussions. https://t.co/pnGHm67sTt pic.twitter.com/p6pHPMKxQe

From The Daily Wire:
“According to Townhall, Biden’s shift leftward can mean only one thing: the Democrats have taken up an extremist position on abortion with which most Americans do not agree.
“Biden has now walked away from a majority-supported viewpoint on the Hyde Amendment, even as he seems to have the “moderate” lane basically to himself. The playbook to drag him leftward is now established,” said Guy Benson. “By a double-digit margin, the American people oppose public funding of abortion. And the population for whom the Hyde Amendment would be jettisoned is even less likely to support the idea than wealthier Americans.”
“Of course, Biden’s flip on the issue, which apparently happened after a few phone calls with a B-list actress-turned-activist, could be politically costly in the long run, since it shows he has no principles whatsoever and will say anything for the sake of garnering progressive support. It also helps him little when several political commentators earlier this week were saying his support of the Hyde Amendment stemmed from his personal convictions.
“I am told explicitly that it is Joe Biden, himself, who says: ‘this is my conviction and I’m not changing it. This is how I have felt and this is how I have voted for my four decades in public service, and I’m not changing,” said Dana Bash on CNN.
“He is a deeply religious man…he is guided by his faith, his position on the Hyde Amendment has been consistent,” said Rep. Cedric Richmond, national co-chairman of the Biden campaign.”

“According to the story, Biden’s aides want this to be seen as a “thoughtful evolution,” which is somewhat ridiculous considering it took place within a matter of two days, at most. More likely, Biden and his campaign realized that they were taking on way more water than expected from powerful pro-abortion groups for opposing federal funding for abortions.
“NARAL Pro-Choice America president Ilyse Hogue, one of the most significant of Biden’s critics when he supported the amendment, said after Biden flipped that “his willingness to listen and learn at this moment from thousands of women who spoke up goes to his credit and makes me think that he is still evolving.”‘
Gotta love the never-ending hypocrisy of progressive politics. Obama and Biden both lied to Americans during Obama’s reign that Obamacare would not fund abortions. It certainly does and in fact, a big part of the healthcare mess revolves around the sacrifice of the most innocent among us. ‘Evil liars’ doesn’t begin to describe the left these days.
Greg Gutfeld is right… the more Americans see of Joe Biden the less they like him and his flip-flop here could very well seal his political fate. For the left, he’s not nearly radical enough. For the right, he’s far too progressive. Note to Biden, Purgatory is not a place you want to be in politics.
