Unforgivable!’ President Trump Nails VA Democrat Gov Northam Over Racist Photo Response

President Trump has responded to the denials by Virginia Democratic Ralph Northam that he was in a racist photo in his medical school yearbook in 1984. Originally, he said he was one of two men in the pic — one in blackface and one in a KKK hood — but he wouldn’t say which one. Then he said he was not in the photo at all but did do a blackface representation of Michael Jackson once. His story keeps on changing, but his credibility doesn’t… it’s shot.

On Saturday evening Trump tweeted out that Northam’s recent actions were just unforgivable. “Democrat Governor Ralph Northam of Virginia just stated, ‘I believe that I am not either of the people in that photo,'” Trump tweeted. “This was 24 hours after apologizing for appearing in the picture and after making the most horrible statement on ‘super’ late-term abortion. Unforgivable!”

That is exactly correct and there are many Democrats as well as Republicans calling for Northam to resign. But the left couches it in a statement that President Trump is somehow racist as well which is not true. Trump’s response came after a disastrous press conference that Northam held where he denied appearing in the photo after he stated on Friday that he did appear in the photo. Plausible deniability just won’t work here.

“When my staff showed me the photo in question yesterday, I was seeing it for the first time,” Northam claimed on Saturday. “I did not purchase the EVMS yearbook and I was unaware of what was on my page. When I was confronted with the images yesterday, I was appalled that they appeared on my page but I believed then and now that I am not either of the people in that photo.” He’s not very good at lying.

In that same press conference, Northam admitted to wearing blackface on a separate occasion while he was dressed up as Michael Jackson. “My belief that I did not wear that costume or attend that party stems in part from my clear memory of other mistakes I made in the same period of my life,” Northam said. “That same year, I did participate in a dance contest in San Antonio in which I darkened my face as part of a Michael Jackson costume.”

Evidently, Northam told several fellow Democrats it wasn’t him in the pic and one of them told The New York Times that “the governor was determined to prove it was not him in the photograph and was even considering using facial recognition software.” Please just stop. This is embarrassing. Northam’s “coonman” nickname was also pointed out in a separate yearbook at Virginia Military Institute.

“My main nickname in high school and in college was ‘Goose’ because when my voice was changing, I would change an octave,” Northam stated. “There were two individuals, as best as I can recollect, at VMI they were a year ahead of me. They called me ‘Coonman.’ I don’t know their motives or intent. I know who they are. That was the extent of that. And it ended up in the yearbook. And I regret that.”

From The Daily Wire:

“Northam came under fire earlier in the week after he endorsed infanticide during an interview with a news publication.

“Following the outrage that ensued, a reporter asked Northam at a press conference the next day, “do you regret what you said yesterday or the way you said it?”

“No, I don’t,” Northam responded. “And you know, um, Allen I appreciate the question, I’m a physician, uh, I’m also the governor. Um, but when I’m asked questions a lot of times it is put into context of being a physician. Uh, again, realizing, you know, how we, uh, approach, how we manage patients, we offer advice and counseling. So no, I don’t have any regrets.”

“But I, I do find uh, you know that how, uh, my comments, uh, I, I did answer that question,” Northam continued. “I, I regret that those comments mischaracterized. Uh, the personal uh, insults toward me I really find disgusting. So I, I again as I said in my comments earlier, you know we can agree to disagree, Allen. But let’s be civil about it.”‘

This man was a pediatric neurologist, so that makes it even more reprehensible.

On the abortion issue, Northam did indeed condone infanticide. From Fox News:

“When questioned about those comments, Northam, a former pediatric neurologist, said that third-trimester abortions are performed with “the consent of obviously the mother, with consent of the physician, multiple physicians by the way, and it’s done in cases where there may be severe deformities or there may be a fetus that’s not viable.”

“So in this particular example if a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen, the infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.”

“Some conservative commentators and lawmakers interpreted the remarks by Northam to mean he was discussing the possibility of allowing a newborn to die — or even killing it outright.”

From ABC News:

“The Virginia Legislative Black Caucus also renewed its call for Northam to resign.

“He had irrevocably lost the faith and trust of the people he was elected to serve. Changing his public story today now casts further doubt on his ability to regain that trust,” the caucus said in a statement.

“North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, also a Democrat, released his own statement on Northam.

“This is a reprehensible picture that is deeply disappointing and I know must come with pain beyond what many of us can even understand,” he said Saturday. “Resignation is the only way forward.”

Gina Raimondo, the head of the Democratic Governors Association and governor of Rhode Island, said she wanted Northam to resign.

“It is time for Gov. Northam to resign and allow Lt. Gov. Fairfax to lead Virginia forward,” she said.”

And there is soooo much more.

Trump tweeted out a very apropos statement on Northam beating Gillespie for the Governorship in Virginia: “Ed Gillespie, who ran for Governor of the Great State of Virginia against Ralph Northam, must now be thinking Malpractice and Dereliction of Duty with regard to his Opposition Research Staff. If they find that terrible picture before the election, he wins by 20 points!”

High profile Democrats such as Sens. Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, as well as Rep. Bobby Scott, released a joint statement calling on the beleaguered governor to “step down and allow the Commonwealth to begin healing.”

“After we watched his press conference today, we called Governor Northam to tell him that we no longer believe he can effectively serve as Governor of Virginia and that he must resign,” the statement said. “Governor Northam has served the people of the Commonwealth faithfully for many years, but the events of the past 24 hours have inflicted immense pain and irrevocably broken the trust Virginians must have in their leaders.”

Northam is now damaged goods and there is no repairing that in this politically correct environment. Time to step down and call it a night Gracie.
