Republican Congressman Receives Voicemail Wishing: “Hitler Would Have Done His F***ing Job”

Republican Rep. Lee Zeldin of New York has been getting vile and hateful voicemails. He tweeted out an anti-Semitic voicemail left on his office phone Thursday afternoon. Zeldin tagged Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar in the tweet… the two have been going at it against each other on Twitter over their views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Here is what the caller partially said:

“Everybody’s anti-Semitic when it comes to talking about you people who have murdered black people, systematically enslaved them. You’re occupying the Palestinian region. You’re worse than Hitler. You maggots and bloodsuckers. Get the hell out of Israel and take your ass on back to Europe. I get sick of you calling people anti-Semitic when they’re not. I’m calling you a hater of the Palestinians. You stop murdering them and maybe people will look at you like you’re decent people. Right now you’re nothing but animals. You know Hitler told you that right? You got my phone number, you got my zip code. You come after me if you want. I don’t give a f*ck cause I hate you people for what you did to us as black people and I wish Hitler would have done his f*cking job.”

“We got calls like this all day long today and many were worse than what was in that voicemail. I went through K-12, college, law school, and 4 years on active duty in the Army and I never once experienced anti-Semitism,” Congressman Zeldin said. “In the last several years though this anti-Israel, anti-Semitic hatred is only increasing in American politics, on college campuses, and in the halls of Congress.”

“That’s why I’m calling on the House to immediately pass my resolution condemning this anti-Israel, anti-Semitic hate,” he continued. “Let’s not elevate it. Let’s not empower or echo it. Let’s eliminate it.”

The fact that the resolution has not passed yet speaks volumes to the hatred, racism, anti-Semitism, and bigotry on the left.

Zeldin was one of three Republicans who formally introduced a resolution to condemn the rise of anti-Semitism and anti-Israel sentiment in the U.S. The resolution specifically names the Nation of Islam leader and hate-monger Louis Farrakhan, the leaders of the Women’s March, and Democratic Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar (both Muslim).

Zeldin urged House Democrats to schedule a vote while speaking on the floor of the House last Tuesday. That was also the day that a feud between Zeldin and Omar broke out on Twitter. To be fair, Zeldin threw the first punch. He tweeted that it’s “crazy” Omar was placed on the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.

Omar shot back by saying that he’s not used to “Muslim women as colleagues who know how to stand up to bullies!” The fight continued back and forth with insults flying. That led to Zeldin tagging Omar in his tweet about the voicemail.

Omar responded to that tweet, saying, “This is heinous and hateful. I too am flooded with bigoted voicemails and calls every day. Maybe we could meet and share notes on how to fight religious discrimination of all kinds? Maybe over Somali tea, in your old office which I happen to be in now.”

Zeldin accepted her offer, urging her to support a House resolution that rejects anti-Israel and anti-Semitic hatred, as a “step in the right direction.”

From Fox News:

“There are a lot of problems with that comparison,” Zeldin (R-N.Y.), who is Jewish, said. “Israel doesn’t block – with shotgun-carrying Israelis – Arabs [from getting] to the polls, the Arab votes don’t get mysteriously lost on the way to getting counted, Arabs don’t have to take literacy tests in order to vote.”

“He added, “And also when the Palestinians are rewarding people — terrorists — for murdering Israelis and Americans, that wasn’t happening in the Deep South. So we need to call that out too.”

“He also said he takes strong exception with Omar calling for leniency for ISIS fighters, supporting disputed Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, and backing the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) Movement.

“I will meet with any colleague — either side of the aisle, House, Senate, Republican, Democrat — to talk about what we agree on, to talk about what we disagree on,” Zeldin said.

“He said he’s happy to meet with Omar, but he called on her to stop with accusations of Islamophobia.

“I’ve never once mentioned her religion in any way, shape or form. It’s about her policy. It’s about her rhetoric,” Zeldin said.

“Omar was invited onto the program as well, but her team only issued a “no comment.”‘

Zeldin has called Omar, a Somali-American, “anti-Israel” and “anti-Semitic.” His aide said that was in reference to several issues including, Omar’s support for the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions against Israel. It’s hard to argue with his premise here.

Omar lashed out later on Twitter: “Don’t mind him, he is just waking up to the reality of having Muslim women as colleagues who know how to stand up to bullies! It’s gonna be fun watching him lose his marbles.”

Zeldin answered her, suggesting Omar supported terrorist organizations.

“Those poor innocent ISIS fighters & Palestinian terrorists right? Give me a break! That’s a problem no matter your religion or gender Ilhan,” Zeldin wrote. “Your anti-Semitic and anti-Israel hate is strong & wrong & those terrorists have blood on their hands as well.”

In the final response of the exchange, Omar shared a link to an online column headlined “Muslim Congresswoman calls out GOP lawmaker’s bigotry” and wrote above it: “Thank you, next.”

And so it goes but there is no denying that anti-Semitism is skyrocketing in Congress because of the left’s choice in politicians. This won’t end well.
