President Trump Just Served Notice to Establishment Fatcats the Days of Shoveling Tax Dollars of Hard Working Americans to Enrich Their Cronies is Over
California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced the cancellation of the state’s high-speed rail project recently, but probably did not realize what he was about to encounter..
The project was over budget by billions, finally hitting an estimated price tag of $77 Billion prior to its cancellation. Why isn’t there a criminal investigation into whose pockets these billions went into?
The federal government advanced $3.5 Billion to California and all they got to show for that enormous sum of dough was a feasibility study… not kidding. The fact that $3.5 Billion is an amount similar to the amount California’s Democratic Congressional delegation refused to appropriate for the building of a wall along our southern border wasn’t lost on President Trump.
California has been forced to cancel the massive bullet train project after having spent and wasted many billions of dollars. They owe the Federal Government three and a half billion dollars. We want that money back now. Whole project is a “green” disaster!

Trump is demanding that $3.5 Billion – your $3.5 Billion – be returned to the Federal government’s coffers.
“The Federal Railroad Administration of the U.S. Department of Transportation wrote to California’s High-Speed Rail Authority, informing it that it had breached the terms of its contract with the federal government and that $928,620,000 would therefore no longer be available to the project.”
Trump followed that by demanding the remaining $2.5 Billion be returned directly.
This led Governor Newsom to show his misplaced priorities when he declared “This is California’s money.”
No gov, this is OUR money – keep your leftist hands off it.
Now, Newsom says he wanted to complete the portion of the bullet train under construction in the rural Central Valley, lest the state lose federal dollars granted to California by President Barack Obama as part of the 2009 stimulus: “I am not interested in sending $3.5 billion in federal funding that was allocated to this project back to Donald Trump..”
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Railroad Administration sent a letter to the California High-Speed Rail Authority, informing it that it was terminating its agreement with the state and therefore would refuse to provide the state with $928,620,000 allocated to the high-speed rail project.
The FRA listed several factors informing its decision, including the likelihood that the high-speed rail would not be completed by 2022, as contemplated by the original agreement. The state’s high-speed rail authority had also failed, according to the FRA, to provide “timely and satisfactory financial reports” to the federal government.
The Los Angeles Times reported additionally that the Department of Transportation said it was “actively exploring every legal option” to recover the other $2.5 billion granted by the federal government to California for the project.
Newsom complained angrily that Trump was carrying out “political retribution” for California’s legal challenge Monday to his emergency declaration to build a barrier on the U.S.-Mexico border. He reiterated: “This is California’s money, and we are going to fight for it,” according to a statement quoted by the Times.
No governor, this isn’t California’s money. This money came from taxpayers located in 49 other states.. It sounds like you have a personal problem. Trump doesn’t care – he has no shot at winning California now or any time in the future – so as my grandma used to say, “Tough titties.”
Maybe that was grandpa.
