BuzzFeed, who originally broke the bogus Steele Dossier story that accused President Trump of Russian collusion, ran with a second story this week where disgraced attorney Michael Cohen claimed that Trump told him to lie to Congress about his dealings with Russia. In a shocking move, Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office issued an extraordinary statement disputing the bombshell news report.
“BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the Special Counsel’s Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s Congressional testimony are not accurate,” Peter Carr, a spokesman for Mueller’s office, said. In response to that statement, President Trump offered rare praise for Mueller in slapping down the fake BuzzFeed story that is now being discredited all over the place.
“I appreciate the special counsel coming out with a statement last night. I think it was very appropriate that they did so. I very much appreciate that,” Trump told reporters who were outside the White House.
“I think that the BuzzFeed piece was a disgrace to our country. It was a disgrace to journalism,” Trump said, referring to BuzzFeed’s report as a “totally phony story.” Which of course it is.
“I think it’s going to take a long time for the mainstream media to recover its credibility,” added Trump. Again, he’s right. This whole witch hunt against Trump has tainted the media probably permanently.
Remember it was Buzzfeed that released the totally discredited “Dossier,” paid for by Crooked Hillary Clinton and the Democrats (as opposition research), on which the entire Russian probe is based! A very sad day for journalism, but a great day for our Country!

The news broke Thursday night from BuzzFeed that Cohen told the special counsel Trump instructed him to lie to Congress in 2017 about his efforts to build a Trump Tower in Moscow during the 2016 campaign. Cohen is a proven liar on a number of fronts and has been convicted of lying to Mueller, so I’m not sure why BuzzFeed would take his word on anything except they are desperate to nail President Trump. The sources were allegedly two anonymous law enforcement officials. Right.
By the way, BuzzFeed is not backing off. They are doubling down on the fake reporting. “In response to the statement tonight from the Special Counsel’s spokesman: We stand by our reporting and the sources who informed it, and we urge the Special Counsel to make clear what he’s disputing.”
The Dems ate up BuzzFeed’s report immediately and started calling for Trump’s head on an impeachment platter. However, Ronan Farrow of the New York Times castigated BuzzFeed for shoddy, biased reporting. Good for him. The media ran with the story non-stop yesterday. It now looks like once again they have journalistic egg all over their faces… not that they care or that they will retract their lies on this.
Check out the rabidness from the left:
“Earlier Friday, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., whose committee is already investigating the president and his ties to Russia, called the allegations in the report “the most serious to date.”
“The allegation that the president of the United States may have suborned perjury before our committee in an effort to curtail the investigation and cover up his business dealings with Russia is among the most serious to date,” Schiff said in a statement. “We will do what’s necessary to find out if it’s true.”
“Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., said the House should begin to “establish a record” of whether Trump “committed high crimes,” repeatedly hinting on Twitter at the potential for impeachment proceedings.
“Based on the Buzzfeed report and numerous other articles showing @realDonaldTrump committed Obstruction of Justice and other possible felonies, it is time for the House Judiciary Committee to start holding hearings to establish a record of whether @POTUS committed high crimes,” Lieu tweeted.
“Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-Texas, called for Trump to leave office or face impeachment if the report is accurate.
“If the @BuzzFeed story is true, President Trump must resign or be impeached,” he said.”

The report was immediately dismissed by President Trump’s legal team as it should be. Even Giuliani praised Mueller and his team for their statement.
“Any suggestion – from any source – that the president counseled Michael Cohen to lie is categorically false. Michael Cohen is a convicted criminal and a liar,” Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani said. “… Today’s claims are just more made-up lies born of Michael Cohen’s malice and desperation, in an effort to reduce his sentence.”
I think Americans have had enough of this disgraceful witch hunt. At least Mueller’s team did the right thing here. That’s way more than what can be said about the foaming-at-the-mouth Democrats.

I commend Bob Mueller’s office for correcting the BuzzFeed false story that Pres. Trump encouraged Cohen to lie. I ask the press to take heed that their hysterical desire to destroy this President has gone too far. They pursued this without critical analysis all day. #FAKENEWS
