Lady Gaga, of meat suit fame, has taken aim at Vice President Mike Pence and his wife, Karen, over their Christian beliefs from her show on the Las Vegas Strip. It’s well-known that Lady Gaga is very pro-LGBT and is bisexual. The pop singer blasted Pence after he dared to defend his wife for teaching at Immanuel Christian School that prohibits “homosexual activity.”
She stopped mid-song during a “Million Reasons” in Las Vegas on Saturday to lambast Pence. The crowd loved it evidently. Well, it is Vegas after all.
“To Mike Pence, who thinks it’s acceptable that his wife work at a school that bans LGBTQ, you are wrong,” Lady Gaga said while sitting a piano as the audience cheered. “You say we should not discriminate against Christianity; you are the worst representation of what it means to be a Christian. I am a Christian woman, and what I do know about Christianity is that we bear no prejudice, and everybody is welcome. So you can take all that disgrace Mr. Pence, and you can look yourself in the mirror, and you’ll find it right there.”
I’m sure the hypocrisy of Lady Gaga is not lost on Americans here. Nor is the fact that she probably has no idea what being a real Christian entails. Actions speak far louder than words. She has also savaged President Trump on the partial government shutdown. “If the f***ing president of the United States could please put our government back in business,” she said while audience members yelled “f*** Trump.” She added that “there are people who live paycheck to paycheck and need their money.” Entertainers really should stay out of politics.
Lady Gaga just recently got rave reviews for her acting alongside Bradley Cooper in the remake of “A Star Is Born.” So, suddenly… she feels she has the gravitas to talk politics to her fans. Good luck with that.
Karen Pence was pilloried for taking her teaching position at the Christian school. A school that she had taught at previously for twelve years. She will be teaching art two days a week there. Her husband Mike Pence sat down for an interview with EWTN’s Lauren Ashburn and decried the attack on Christian education.
“My wife and I have been in the public eye for quite a while but I have to tell you, to see major news organizations attacking Christian education is deeply offensive,” Pence said. “We have a rich tradition of Christian education and, frankly, religious education broadly defined. We celebrate it. The freedom of religion is enshrined in the Constitution of the United States. The Constitution prohibits a religious test for holding public office, so we’ll let critics roll off our backs.”

“Why not teach at a school that welcomes everyone, instead of choosing one that won’t serve LGBTQ kids, kids of LGBTQ parents?” JoDee Winterhof, senior vice president for policy and political affairs at the Human Rights Campaign, told the Huffington Post in a statement. “The Pences never seem to miss an opportunity to show their public service only extends to some.” I don’t see these people criticizing Muslims who have the same views as Christians on this subject. This is simply a Christian bashfest and a Pence hate-a-thon.
GLAAD is circulating a petition entitled “Tell Karen Pence and Her School to Stop Discriminating Against LGBTQ Students,” and the ACLU tweeted that Karen Pence’s decision to teach at the school “sends a terrible message to students. Do we want to live in a country with leaders who are willing to disavow LGBTQ youth?”
Of course, if you listened to these people, pedophilia would be legalized along with every other perversion under the sun. Whatever happened to freedom of religion? I guess Lady Gaga was just “Born This Way.”
