Covington Bishop Foys REFUSES to Apologize: Still Speaks of ‘Corrective Action’ for #MAGAkids

UPDATE! Bishop Foys has finally apologized and admitted wrongdoing in the actions stated in this letter. Read Here! We thank him for that. It really should have been done the following morning. I hope this is a lesson. The Diocese still participated in False Witness. The behavior was shameful. But the Word is all about forgiveness. I am glad he did the right thing.

Yes, this is going to be one of those articles where I chastise severely bad behavior on behalf of an adult(s) that should know better…you know the drill.

The Diocese of Covington headed by Bishop Roger Joseph Foys, issued a letter, (almost immediately), of condemnation against the students of his diocese who were at the center of a media firestorm this weekend over what turned out to be false and slanderous accusations.

Instead of waiting, as he should have, he immediately and selfishly threw these kids under the bus without knowing all the details.

This was bad enough:

“We condemn the actions of the Covington Catholic High School students towards Nathan Phillips specifically, and Native Americans in general, Jan. 18, after the March for Life, in Washington, D.C.,” the January 19 statement read.

But now this man has put out another statement, refusing to apologize for his part in this mess, which he helped cause, and STILL discussing consequences.

I will let you read it, and then we will do some spanking, because this man needs it. He needs to get down on his knees. He has not only harmed ‘his neighbor’ and helped spread ‘false witness’, one of the 7 things God HATES in Proverbs 6, he has sinned against God and showed failed leadership:

Proverbs 6:16 There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, 19 a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.

You participated in False Witness!!! GOD HATES THAT! Get that through your thick selfish political skull! (Actually I find you, Roger Joseph Foys, guilty of THREE of the seven things God HATES!)

Here is his new statement:

“Concerning the incident in Washington, D.C., between Covington Catholic students, Elder Nathan Phillips and Black Hebrew Israelites the independent, third-party investigation is planned to begin this week. This is a very serious matter that has already permanently altered the lives of many people. It is important for us to gather the facts that will allow us to determine what corrective actions, if any, are appropriate,” the Jan. 22 statement read.

“has already permanently altered the lives of many people.” THIS!!!!

You Sir, participated in ‘permanently altering‘ the lives of these kids and are just as guilty as the rest. YOU should have waited to find out truth. Roger, YOU were more concerned about your diocese than you were these kids in your care.

Roger Joseph Foys, you were more concerned about yourself, and are still more concerned about yourself, than you are these kids, or the TRUTH!

Now, I do not have a problem with you investigating the situation. That is your job. Your job is NOT to throw them under the bus BEFORE you know the facts! If it was found that these kids were guilty of what was portrayed, then you SILENTLY handle it in-house!

Your first statement, should have read, and it STILL should read: “We do not know all the facts, we are waiting to do so.” If it had, you would have NOT had to fix your mistake and write another!

You should have never had to make a second statement.

Basically, you got scared. You had a situation you were not qualified to handle. Your ability to problem solve is questionable in the least and it makes you FULLY unqualified to be in a position of power over other peoples children.

You sir, should be ashamed of yourself. You need to apologize to the country, these students, and their families. Roger Joseph Foys, you didn’t make matters better, you made them worse! FAR worse!

I have been preaching the Word for over three decades. The worst part of this:  You have brought reproach on the Lord’s Church with these actions. Christ spent his entire ministry dealing with men just like you. The Pharisees and the Sadducees. The political swamp rats that had infested the Jewish hierarchy at the time.

Your statement read: “This behavior is opposed to the Church’s teaching on the dignity and respect of the human person,”. You are guilty of this, not these kids. Look in the mirror. Christ said to take the log out of your own eye….

Your behavior throughout this mess is abominable and repulsive. You owe these kids, their families, and the American people an humble apology.

The Apostle Paul sometimes had to get tough. He told those holding on to circumcision as law that he wished they would cut the whole thing off.

Christ called the Jewish leadership a “Brood of Vipers, that were going to hell!”

I am telling you, Roger Joseph Foys, that you have sinned against man and God. You rushed to judgment which is a ROOKIE mistake. You are 73 years old! No excuse! You need to fix this, sir.

I would ask everyone who reads this article to contact his office and share your disgust, firmly, but with dignity.

Removed due to updated apology!

Just for your information, many have apologized. Unlike this politician Foys, they did the right thing:

Pundits, journalists, and celebrities who were quick to condemn the Covington Catholic kids, humbly apologized.

Meghan McCain has said that she “reacted too quickly” and apologized for “being part of a media pile on.”

Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, corrected his initial Twitter message about the incident after viewing the complete footage of the incident available. Today he used the medium to reveal that he had spoken to Covington Catholic student Nick Sandmann.

“Just spoke to MAGA hat kid Nick on the phone–he is a total hero and has been maligned by the media. He is in good spirits and plans to FIGHT these lies by the media. I told him we are with him 100%! Media will divide and destroy us no longer!!”

Even CNN’s S.E. Cupp apologized yesterday, tweeting “Hey guys. Seeing all the additional videos now, and I 100% regret reacting too quickly to the Covington story.”

“I wish I’d had the fuller picture before weighing in,” she continued, “and I’m truly sorry.”

But as yet there’s been no expression of contrition from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Covington which, when the story broke, condemned the “actions” of the boys and offered apologies instead to Phillips.
