WATCH: CNN’s Navarro Rudely Files Her Nails During Debate About Wall
CNN's Ana Navarro filed her nails as Steve Cortes spoke about crimes committed by those crossing into the U.S. illegally during an oftentimes heated debate late Wednesday.
During an appearance on CNN’s “Chris Cuomo Prime Time”, Ana Navarro decided to show her disinterest in her debate opponent by beginning to file her nails.
Her opponent was Steve Cortes, who served on Trump’s Hispanic Advisory Council.
The interaction got rather sticky. The segment began with Cortes and Navarro, a staunch critic of the president, reacting to Donald Trump, Jr.’s now-deleted tweet that said zoos work because they have walls.
NAVARRO: But you know, at the end of the day, Donald Trump Jr. and whatever he says, can I just file my nails? I mean, this is an entitled rich spoil little brat whose only call to fame is being his daddy’s son who hasn’t built anything of his own, who hasn’t done anything of his own, who is somehow trying to hang on to the fame of his father in order to have some level of relevancy.
Steve is right, he didn’t even make the cut that his brother-in-law and sister did to be part of the Oval Office and the White House staff. Daddy kept Fredo (ph) back home, so who cares what Donald Trump Jr. says. Who cares what Donald Trump Jr. says?
CUOMO: All right, you know what?
NAVARRO: I don’t want to talk about, you know, that entitled little brat.
“Good prop,” Cuomo said, praising Navarro for pulling out a nail file.
Cortes went on to defend President Donald Trump’s stance on illegal immigration, saying that “the illegal alien crime rate should be zero.”
Navarro sighed and pulled her nail file back out.
“You can do your nails,” Cortes told her. “You know who can’t do their nails are people who have been killed, Ana, by dangerous known illegal aliens who have been allowed to stay in this country because of the leftist policies that people like you promote in so-called sanctuary cities.”
The segment eventually went off the rails when Cortes referred to Navarro as a “de facto leftie.” Navarro, who supported former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush in the 2016 GOP presidential primary, is one of Trump’s most outspoken critics on cable news.
I wonder how the ever-growing list of American family members who have lost relatives to illegal alien crime feel about the Democrats’ and CNN’s dismissive, flippant attitude?
“I don’t want to talk about, you know, that entitled little brat.” Navarro said of Don Trump Jr.
The topic of immigration and the partial government shutdown has dominated cable news for the past three weeks. The shutdown was sparked by an impasse over funding for a wall Trump has promised along the U.S.-Mexico border.
The current shutdown is the second longest in U.S. history. The longest shutdown occurred in 1995 and 1996 during an impasse between President Clinton and Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.). That shutdown lasted from Nov. 14, 1995, through Jan. 6, 1996.
Conservatives criticized Navarro over the episode, which quickly went viral after being picked up by the Drudge Report.
The attention made it the top-trending topic on Twitter for much of Thursday.
CNN isn’t a news operation. It’s a freak show. https://t.co/2oncw2TaKo

Ana Navarro is a pathetic actress on CNN, not a serious analyst. It's ridiculous that they even call her a "Republican Strategist"; I can't remember the last time she said anything positive about Republicans or conservatism. https://t.co/eVfVeUzemV
