Trump Mocks Oprah After 60 Minutes Panel
You know, for someone who is definitely NOT running for the presidency in 2020, Oprah Winfrey sure looks, talks and acts like she’s running. President Trump happened to catch Oprah on a biased panel on 60 Minutes this weekend and that set him off on Twitter.
He let everyone know exactly how he felt about her in no uncertain terms. Trump ripped her as very insecure and said he really hopes she runs in 2020. “Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes,” President Trump tweeted late Sunday.
“The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!”
That’s vintage Trump right there. That’s the guy we saw on the campaign trail in the last election. I’m sure it was just a massive coincidence that Oprah showed up on 60 Minutes with a heavily slanted piece against Trump. Timing y’all. She started out with this, “One year into Donald Trump’s presidency, Americans remain divided, often unwilling to listen to what the other side has to say. It’s happening in families, among friends and at the workplace.” And Winfrey is here to widen the divide, make no mistake about it.

Some of the biased questions Oprah asked went like this:
- “Who here believes that he made the comment about, quote, ‘s***hole countries?’ You think all presidents have used the term s***hole?”
- “OK, so polls are showing that respect for the United States is eroding around the world. Do you care what the world thinks of the United States?”
- “There have been some members of Congress, including Republicans, questioning his stability and fitness for office. What do you think of that, and do you believe he has the temperament to be president?”
- “During the campaign, we are all aware that some 20 women accused him of inappropriate sexual behavior. There was the Access Hollywood tape of course. What do you all think about that?”
Oprah is stealth campaigning here and I find it detestable. It figures that 60 Minutes would provide her a platform to do so. Rumors have been swirling for some time that Oprah would run in 2020. She has said several times she isn’t, but you could have fooled me and many others with her stunts like this one and her fiery “MeToo” speech at the Golden Globes last month.
Oprah addressed the issue recently. “I am actually humbled by the fact that people think that I could be a leader of the free world, but it’s just not in my spirit,” she said earlier this month in a “60 Minutes Overtime” segment posted online. “It’s not in my DNA.” Yeah, I’m not buying it. Hillary Clinton claimed she wasn’t running twice and look what happened there. Oprah is from the same leftist mold as Clinton. I think people should gird themselves for a Trump vs. Winfrey battle royale in 2020.
I don’t blame President Trump for taunting and mocking Oprah. This is political warfare and the next election has already begun. You have two very wealthy celebrities with two polar opposite views of America. It’s a killer show. Winfrey begged for it when she sat with 14 panelists on 60 Minutes yesterday. Seven voted for Trump and seven voted against him. This is the second time she’s done this in Michigan by the way. Oprah is smarter than Clinton. She’s already laying the political ground game in states she would have to win to become president.
Winfrey’s panel on Sunday night focused mostly on things like Trump’s temperament for office, the President’s reportedly vulgar language regarding a variety of things, including “shithole countries,” Trump’s Twitter, his ego and the so-called #MeToo movement, rather than issues. Trump supporters in the room brought up the economic successes of the Trump administration, but that wasn’t what was focused on.
Previously, Trump sang Oprah’s praises, but that little lovefest seems to be over with now. He may sense that she would be a real threat in the election or she may have just offended him by her biased nature and political leanings. Either way, I think there is a growing chance that these two titans will face off in 2020. Get ready to rumble.
