President Trump Ends Protections for Salvadorans

Alright, who are we kidding, most of the Salvadorans that President Trump wants to round up and send home are MS-13 gang members. But 0f course, that’s NOT what Democrats will tell you. How many of these MS-13 gang members, who are ILLEGALS have committed crimes against innocent citizens in America? That’s the question you should be asking.

The Trump administration is terminating the provisionaly residency permits of several thousand Salvadorans. In 2001, over 200,000 Salvadorans were granted temporary protected status (TPS) due to the earthquakes in El Salvador. But that was then and this is now. That was over 17 years ago.

The administration said the Salvadorans granted TPS would now have until Sept. 9, 2019 to leave the U.S. or obtain legal residency through another method. Why are people so suprised? We gave them TPS due to the emergency earthquake which happened over 17 years ago. I think we can all agree those conditions don’t exist any more.

“Based on on careful consideration of available information, including recommendations received as part of an inter-agency consultation process, the Secretary determined that the original conditions caused by the 2001 earthquakes no longer exist,” read a statement from DHS. “Thus, under the applicable statute, the current TPS designation must be terminated.”

“Schools and hospitals damaged by the earthquakes have been reconstructed and repaired, homes have been rebuilt, and money has been provided for water and sanitation and to repair earthquake-damaged roads and other infrastructure,” said the DHS, reports the Los Angeles Times. “The substantial disruption of living conditions caused by the earthquake no longer exist.”

Immigration advocates spoke out against the decision, saying that sending such a large number of people back to El Salvador could be destabilizing, and noting the country’s epidemic of gang violence.

Say WHAT?! Do we really care what the Salvadorans think? Shouldn’t these people be sent back HOME?! I mean don’t we all agree the earthquake threat is over after 17 years? Who’s in charge here? How long do we normally award people from other countries TPS after an earthquake?

Others have raised concerns about U.S.-born children of Salvadorans who were granted TPS, estimated to number about 190,000. Those families must now decide whether to take their children to El Salvador, break up their families or stay in the U.S. illegally to stay together.

Hey! How about just get in line like all the others applying for LEGAL citizenship? Ever think of that?

“The United States has yet again turned its back on its promise to provide refuge for those who face violence and persecution in their home countries,” said Alianza Americas Director Oscar Chacon, who works for immigrant rights.

“Our government is complicit in breaking up families,” Chacon added.

According to statistics from the Center for Migration Studies, 10 percent of the Salvadoran TPS recipients are married to U.S. citizens, and 88 percent of them are part of the work force in the U.S., BBC reports.

So wait! We have about 180,000 illegal workers from El Salvador here? And now because no president in the last 17 years wanted to send them back, it’s Trump’s fault? Shouldn’t we have maybe sent them back after a few months? What’s up with THAT?

Democratic Rep. Jim McGovern of Massachusetts, who helped write the law granting temporary status to Salvadorans, called the administration’s decision “a shameful and cynical move to punish these innocent families just to score political points with the extreme right wing Republican base.”

The Salvadoran government had also urged the U.S. to extend TPS protections. El Salvador Foreign Minister Hugo Martinez said before the decision was announced that ending TPS “would mean breaking up families that are in the U.S.”

EXTEND IT??? Are you KIDDING ME?! 17 years is long enough if you ask me? Again, how long would citizens from other countries stay if there was an earthquake? A few months? Or a few years?

Martinez added that because the U.S. grants citizenship to those who are born in the U.S., almost 200,000 young U.S. citizens would have parents who would face deportation.

In the 17 years that have followed, every administration has extended their window to stay, including the Obama administration in September 2016.

DHS states that the Salvadoran immigrants have 18 months until the official termination, in an effort to give them time to arrange for departure and for El Salvador to “prepare for the return and reintegration of its citizens.”

The decision also gives the Salvadorans time to apply for other legal avenues to continue living in the United States. Last year, DHS also announced that they had ended TPS for Haitian and Nicaraguan citizens living in the U.S.

Salvadorans have been, by far, the largest beneficiaries of the program, which provides humanitarian relief for foreigners whose countries are hit with natural disasters or other strife.

The new DHS decision produces a serious challenge for El Salvador, a country of 6.2 million people whose economy counts on money sent by wage earners in the U.S. Over the past decade, growing numbers of Salvadorans — many coming as families or unaccompanied children — have entered the United States illegally through Mexico, fleeing violence and poverty.

And just so we’re clear…they are not all innocent young children like the Democrats make them out to be. Wake up people! Many our gang members that come here to sell drugs or commit crimes like the MS-13.

MS-13 is a gang known for killing its victims with baseball bats and machetes. It’s strongly believed by federal investigators that MS-13 is now present in over sd40 states in the U.S. Not a pretty picture. We’re talking some really ‘bad hombres’. MS-13 IS a NATIONAL security threat.

If President Trump wants to round up some of these scumbags or Salvadorans and ship them back. Listen, I got no problem with that!
