You would think Yale professors would be ethical enough to understand that you absolutely can’t diagnose someone you have never even met or examined. You would be wrong. Yale psychology professor, Bandy Lee, contributor to the book “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump,” defends her armchair diagnosis of the President despite the American Psychiatric Association’s statement to the contrary. It’s funny, because she isn’t even legally allowed to practice.
The elitist mentality of Ivy League professors is well known. They whole reason they do what they do is because they love to hear themselves speak down to people and they possess a superiority complex that is obvious to anyone they come in contact with. That’s all good and well if you want to waste money going to a university to be shamelessly indoctrinated on liberal politics. But, when these people decide to actively try to take down President Trump because they clearly disagree with his politics, we have a whole different situation.
H/T Campus Reform
Yale University psychology professor Bandy Lee has deleted her Twitter account amid mounting allegations that she is not licensed in her home state of Connecticut.
Accusations have been circulating on Twitter that the prominent Yale professor, known for her public diagnosis of President Donald Trump as having a “mental impairment” and who recently met with lawmakers on Capitol Hill to discuss the issue, isn’t actually a licensed psychiatrist.
In fact, Campus Reform discovered that according to the State of Connecticut, Lee’s “physician/surgeon” license expired in 2015, and her application for reinstatement has been “pending” ever since.
Additionally, her “controlled substance registration for practitioner” license has apparently “lapsed,” expiring in February 2017.
In response to Campus Reform’s inquiry on the matter, Lee simply stated that “I need only one license,” though she has yet to elaborate on precisely which license that is, and, according to the state in which she resides, she allegedly has none.
Without mentioning Lee specifically, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) put out a recent statement in which it condemned the diagnoses of public officials whom psychiatrists have not personally examined, invoking what is commonly referred to as the Goldwater Rule.
“We at the APA call for an end to psychiatrists providing professional opinions in the media about public figures whom they have not examined, whether it be on cable news appearances, books, or in social media,” the statement read, according to The Washington Examiner.
“Arm-chair psychiatry or the use of psychiatry as a political tool is the misuse of psychiatry and is unacceptable and unethical,” the APA concluded.
Lee and a colleague, however, responded to criticisms in a Wednesday POLITICO piece, in which they claim that “it’s perfectly OK to question the president’s mental state,” since they are “psychiatrists.”
So, first off, we have the problem that Dr. Lee isn’t even legally qualified to treat patients let alone actually speaking to congressmen about Trump’s mental state. Even if she were, she hasn’t ever examined him! But other doctors have and there has never been any mention of any mental impairment his entire public career until he became president and started doing things she disagrees with.
Here’s the thing, even if they truly believed Trump is mentally impaired, which clearly he is not, how ethical would it be to write a book about it?! Certainly it can’t be ethical to draw such a strong conclusion about the President you never met and then put it in a book with an inflammatory title in an attempt to take him down?
If a doctor is truly convinced a person has a sickness, is this how they would deal with it? Where’s the compassion? Where is the urge to help the patient? Where is the responsibility to “do no harm?” Do these doctors honestly think writing a book like this is good for anyone, especially the “patient?” Oh please!
Dr. Lee argues that it is for the good of the country that this be brought to the forefront and that people need to know. Thanks, Dr. Lee, but I would rather trust a doctor who actually has met and examined a patient before I buy your clearly biased and hostile opinion about President Trump. Nice try though.
Besides, Trump clearly is a stable genius. Liberals are too blinded by their hate to see all the good he has done. Look at the stock market. Heck, in a couple weeks, look at your paycheck. Haven’t heard much about ISIS lately, huh? Plus, he plays the media like a fiddle. Trump is a master at baiting them and every time they take it, he comes out looking better and better. Someday they will simply have to get used to him winning!
Let’s face it….the liberals and Democrats couldnt’ get Trump on the Russian collusion, so now they have switched tracks to the excuse…the President’s mentally unstable. Yeah! Nice try, but it ain’t gonna’ work!
