Gov. Jay Inslee, claiming there are “just 59 days” left to stop Global Warming, is demanding state lawmakers tax fossil-fuel emissions that increases 3.5% EVERY YEAR… PLUS inflation!
Well, if there are only 59 days left, his tax isn’t going to help. We’re doomed!
“It is time to step up,” Inslee told lawmakers at the Capitol. The impacts of climate change, he added, “will be carried by our children, our economy, our security and our quality of life.”
We have just 59 days to do our part to save our children from an endless cycle of crop-killing droughts one year, and rivers spilling their banks the next. To save salmon from dying in ever warming rivers, and our forests from being reduced to plumes of ash.

Inslee wants lawmakers to pass a tax on carbon dioxide emissions from power plants and industrial facilities.
The state legislature’s session ends in 59 days, on March 8. Democrats have a slim majority in both state legislative chambers.
The plan would tax carbon emissions generated by transportation fuels and power plants at $20 per metric ton starting in July of 2019. After that, the tax would increase by 3.5 percent each year, plus inflation.
He also tweeted: “We have allowed the unfettered release of carbon pollution into our air. That burden will be carried by our children, our economy, our security, and our quality of life.”
However, then the truth came out as Governor Inslee admitted the tax is really about wealth redistribution! “Some money would offset taxes or go to poor families.”
The governor’s office estimates his tax would raise $1.5 billion over its first two years, and $3.3 billion over four years. Much of the money from the tax would initially be used to replenish the roughly $1 billion in reserves Inslee hopes to spend on education.
The money later would be spent on a mix of clean energy, water conservation and other environmental projects.
About $950 million would go towards education programs. The rest would go toward green energy programs and research, water infrastructure, and wildfire mitigation.
While the tax would be paid by power plants and fuel importers, Inslee’s staff predicted some of the costs would be passed on to consumers and result in a hike in the price of electricity, natural gas and gasoline for many people starting in 2020 — a fact that drew outcry from the GOP.
That year consumers could see an increase in costs of 4 to 5 percent on electricity, roughly 10 percent on natural gas used in homes and 6 to 9 percent on gasoline, Inslee adviser Lauren McCloy said.
“Yes there are going to be costs. There are going to be impacts to energy prices,” McCloy said. “At the the end of the day this is about reinvesting money into Washington.”
Wait, I thought this tax was to save the world from catastrophe?
Sen. Reuven Carlyle, D-Seattle, and sponsor of Inslee’s proposal in the Senate, will have to find a way to bring lawmakers on board.
“I’m in Sen. Warren Magnuson mode,” said Carlyle, referring to the late U.S. senator from Seattle known for his environmental accomplishments. “This is about getting the votes.”
Inslee’s plan “is a solid, functioning first draft,” Carlyle said, “and we’re going to take it from here and kick it into high gear.”
So, in other words, it gets worse?
While combating climate change has been Inslee’s signature priority, the Legislature and the courts have stifled his ambitions. There is also a lack of ‘catastrophic priority’ with his constituents.
A recent Gallup poll reveals that only 32% of the public are worried about it a “great deal.” That is back to the level we found in the 80’s which of course was on the heals of the failed global cooling hoax.
Maybe it is because there has been no global warming for 2 decades now.
Maybe it is because they found out that while Al Gore was claiming the Arctic shelf would be gone by last year, that he failed to mention the Antarctic was growing.
OR… Maybe it is because he said in 2008 that the entire Arctic Shelf would be gone by 2013 and now, it is not only not gone, it is growing again. (By 30% in 2013.)
Maybe it was because after he claimed in 2008 that the Arctic Ice would be totally gone by 2013, that by 2012, it had already grown by 50%.
Maybe it is because they found out that the scientists were fudging the data on the temperatures.
Another Global Warming hoaxter, Bill Nye the Science Dork could barely answer any of Tucker Carlson’s simple questions about man-made Global Warming, repeatedly going back to “it’s settled”!
