Imagine that! NFL Teams That Protested the Flag Did NOT Make it to Playoffs!
None of the NFL teams that had active national anthem protesters made it to the post season, or obviously, to the Super Bowl!
Now I predicted this months ago. It is really simple actually.
When you get ready to do anything really, but especially starting a football game, where your head is… is where you will perform.
We know that if you are standing on the sidelines, thinking you will lose as the game begins, you probably will.
I taught sales for years. I actually advised the foreign government on the topic.
The first rule of sales is a positive attitude. You start the day telling yourself you can succeed, that you can do it! When I am teaching sales, I tell people to look in the mirror first thing in the morning, and verbally state: “You are good. You can do this. You are going to have a successful day!”
But what happened in the NFL? Colin Kaepernick, beyond what should have been common sense, talked a bunch of players, coaches, and even some owners, to start their game with hateful and negative thoughts.
They were too busy trying to become social justice warriors to pay attention to what they were supposed to be doing. The result, as I predicted, was fatal.
NBC still doesn’t get it.
They announced early last week that they plan to televise players who kneel for the national anthem during the Super Bowl.
However, ones small problem: No regular NFL kneeler is still playing in the postseason. No regular NFL kneeler is playing in the Super Bowl. NBC was just salivating to get that on camera. Ain’t happening. This is the Super Bowl and those players know they have no time for nonsense!
By the end of the regular season, only five teams featured at least one player regularly sitting or kneeling on the sidelines for the anthem: the Seattle Seahawks, the San Francisco 49ers, the Miami Dolphins, the New York Giants and the Oakland Raiders.
None of those franchises made the playoffs, even though four of the five did so in the previous season, leading to speculation about whether the take-a-knee protests wound up dragging down team performance along with TV ratings.
Multiple sports psychologists have stated that the kneelers most likely were “detrimental to team cohesiveness” and a “distraction” to their success.
Well it shouldn’t have taken a psychologist!!!!
Isn’t positive mental attitude supposed to be a given, a basic, a foundational principle in sports? DUH!
Colin Kaepernick broke football.
At the end of the NFL regular season, only 20 players were still actively protesting the anthem. I would imagine that behind the curtain, the players were told, enough is enough.
The protests punctuated one of the lowest rated NFL seasons in history, with the ratings dropping by 9.7 percent and game attendance declining as well. Studies attribute the poor fan engagement to the anthem protests.
The NFL had a disastrous weekend when it came to ratings of all the wild-card playoff games. Numbers were down all season and the popularity of the playoffs were no exception.
The #BoycottNFL fans are offended that some players protested during the national anthem, so much so that those fans have chose to not watch telecasts, not show up at stadiums and not buy NFL merchandise. There are also over 200,000 fans who have signed a #NoKaepernickNoNFL petition, vowing to boycott games until a team hires unemployed quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
The boycott has been huge. The NFL is broke, and Colin Kaepernick, (with the help of some other players and owners), has created a situation that has become a disaster with the NFL! NFL football has ceased to be America’s favorite sport, and fans have just turned them off and have quit going to NFL games.
The NFL best get control, but I don’t see that in the near future. They have considered official rules banning protesting the anthem on the field for next season. I doubt that will come to fruition.
It is real simple. Protest on your own time. These lazy 3-minute antics have not been a real protest anyway. These morons don’t have the intestinal fortitude to go out and really protest. They are too busy living their high lifestyle on the millions of dollars they have received while living the American Dream.
