Democrats on Intelligence Committee Vote Against Transparency for Fusion GPS Documents

It’s a sad day in America, when you see corruption but Democrats vote against the transparency. Wasn’t it former President Obama that said his presidency would be THE MOST transparent in history? So much for transparency and justice!

Members of the House Intelligence Committee voted Thursday to make available the reports of documented abuse of the FISA program, but not all seemed to be on board with the move……especially Democrats!

The four-page memo revealed the alleged surveillance abuses by the U.S. government, yet many Democrats voted against making it available for everyone to see, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The Journal highlights that left-leaning officials voted to release Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes’ interview with Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson on behalf of transparency, but were silent when it came to the transparency of a memo that would list abuses regarding the FBI.

Every Democrat voted against letting the rest of the House see a memo that will list the facts about the FBI’s use of FISA warrants to surveil members of the Trump campaign in 2016,” the article states. “Strange. What are Democrats afraid of?”

Democrat Adam Schiff has even been a vocal force in demanding accountability regarding the Trump-Russia probe, but his “outrage evaporates” when confronted with the role “Fusion GPS and its Democratic financiers” may have played in the abuse of warrants that would allow eavesdropping on American civilians.

And that information, many sources say, needs to be made public.

According to Fox News, the process for releasing such information to the public involves a vote from the committee and, upon approval, can be released so long as no objections arise from the White House within five days.

Back in December, Nunes admitted that his investigators had uncovered evidence that the government was abusing surveillance practices, though it seemed to fall on deaf ears.

“I believe there’s evidence that abuses have occurred,” Nunes had said, with many now sharing that same sentiment.

Many Republican officials called the evidence “shocking,” “alarming,” and one congressman even likened the information to the Russian KGB.

Though lawmakers couldn’t yet give the details of what the memo contained, they stressed that it should be made public as soon as possible.

“It is so alarming the American people have to see this,” said Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan.

“You think about, ‘is this happening in America or is this the KGB?’ That’s how alarming it is,” added Pennsylvania Rep. Scott Perry, with others such as Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz admitting that some could possibly lose their jobs once the information is released.

“It’s troubling. It is shocking,” admitted North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows.

Here’s what Herman Cain had to say about the topic:

What are they afraid of?

‘Remember how hard the Justice Department and the FBI fought to not have to turn over documents concerning their pursuit of a warrant to wiretap Trump campaign official Carter Page in 2016? Remember how the House Intelligence Committee subpoenaed the documents in August, but had to deal with constant foot-dragging and excuses until Paul Ryan had to threaten them with a contempt of Congress charge to finally get access to the documents?

‘If you’re any sort of critical thinker, it made you wonder what they were hiding – especially since it appears they may have used the fake Steele dossier to convince the FISA court to issue a warrant to wiretap Page. That would mean a Democrat administration got permission under false pretenses to spy on a Republican presidential campaign. That’s bigger than Watergate.

Cain goes on to say,

‘The FBI is telling members of Congress that sharing this document with the entire House will endanger national security. But every member of Congress has a high-level security clearance, although I can understand why you’d be nervous about letting the likes of Maxine Waters, Sheila Jackson Lee or Hank Johnson see truly sensitive information. But remember, they’re not releasing the FISA application itself – only a summary of the facts learned from looking at it. I don’t know how explicitly the memo writer laid out the facts, but my guess is that he/she took care to protect sources and methods in the course of doing so.

Then again, are sources and methods not what the FBI and Democrats really fear at all? Democrats are invested in nothing like they are the Trump/Russia collusion narrative, and it’s learned the whole thing was based on a pack of lies, they’re going to have a hard time recovering from that politically. As for the FBI, if they were the ones who took the lies and ran with them out of partisan motives to influence a presidential election, the agency is going to have a very hard time recovering its reputation.

Did that happen? It seems this memo offers us some answers. And only one of the two parties wants the full House to see what’s in it.

Why do you suppose that is?

Democrats and Obama supporters…the most transparent administration in history continues doing transparency its own way. Again, what do they have to hide if they are so innocent and righteous?
